I don't normally complain in a restaurant, in fact I didn't bother to voice my complaints in this one. I have always had nothing but great experiences at Perkins, but this time I was not only disappointed but absolutely insulted. We came in to dine around 6:30pm, myself my husband and our 3 kids. We have a rambunctious 3 year old. Perhaps that's why upon taking our drink orders, the waitress seemed annoyed and unwelcoming. Fair enough. We took some time to decide on what to order. While we waited for the food to arrive, a couple refills were needed on drinks but the waitress passed by without notice. I can understand being busy, but this was a slow Sunday evening. There were 3-4 other tables seated and 2 waitresses on duty, as far as I could see. Just an inattentive server at this point.
My final straw, though, was when our food arrived. We ordered our sons burger with only ketchup and mayo, but there was lettuce, tomato and onions on it. That isn't even my problem. As I'm asking my son if he minds just taking them off (sometimes the onion taste lingers and he hates it) the waitresses just goes. "Oh. I told them no garden on the burger. Oh well." And LITERALLY WALKED AWAY.
So the bill comes. $105 some dollars for 3 kids and 2 adults. And as we're sitting there discussing the service, or complete lack thereof, it dawned on me. This experience at restaurants is becoming commonplace. This server treated us with zero hospitality. Zero attentiveness. Zero friendliness. When my adorable 3 year old put his finger up and said "1 pizza please" she basically looked like an emotionless robot. Like, you couldn't even fake a little chuckle, maybe? Put on a little waitress charm, for even a second? Zero connecting with the customers. Waitresses used to at least PRETEND they wanted you dining in their establishment. They used to at least pretend to be friendly. But, now. They expect to treat you like garbage, give bare minimum service and collect a 20% tip for looking at you like you're an idiot and treating you like you're bothering them by simply being there. Yeah, no. Not this time. I didn't even get a chance to ask for fresh biscuits with my order, because mine were old and stale. Our table was checked on once, after everyone was nearly finished.
I'm pretty sure my husband left a $1 tip on over $100 bill. Normally I'd be embarassed. Ashamed, even. But this time, it's personal. I'll go ahead and leave this tip instead. If you choose to be a waitress and treat patrons like trash, expect to make trash money. Lack of success in life is a direct result of poor attitude and work ethic.
I'm the kind of person who will never raise a stink in a restaurant, no matter how poorly I'm treated. I'll just simply stop giving you my money. I recommend others do the same. If you have to complain, it's...

Read moreI forgot to take pictures. If you are wanting a club sandwich DO NOT go here! Our sandwiches were dry with old very hard little crumbly pieces of bacon, 2 dried up little pieces of what looked like tomatoes, only turkey, no cheese at all and lettuce. I didnt order a BLT with turkey we wanted a club and didnt read the description so we were surprised. So after we were served these horrible dry NO flavor what was supposed to be a BLT 🤷♀️, I ask for a menu because we couldnt believe it and yes this is the $11.99 Club sandwich with fries. It also took 24 minutes to receive these I guess you could call sandwich? The restaurant was dingy and outdated. I've raised my children on Perkins for over 30 years and had the best memories with wonderful food and a very clean and nicely decorated restaurant. I'm so disappointed and surprised this location is even open. It was my boyfriend ( from Massachusetts) first time ever in a Perkins. So if you are looking for coffee and a great mammoth muffin or piece of pie then this is your place. We were there...
