I was excited to try out this gastrobar based on all the positive reviews. We came in on a Tuesday night a bit before 6:30, and it was just about empty. We put in our drink order as well as the Bavarian beast, and then the wait began. Our drinks arrived then we waited and waited.......The pretzel finally came out and barely had any cheese on it. I asked if we could please get a side of the beer cheese, and then again waited over 15 minutes. Our dry pretzel was just about gone when she brings us a very small liquidy gloppy gross container of inedible stuff. And then we waited and waited........ it’s now 7:40 and finally 2 of the 5 entrees come out and again we wait..... 15 minutes later and the 2 people in our party are just about done when 2 more entrees show up. Mind you, 4 of the 5 entrees ordered were chicken wings (10 count). 5 minutes later and the last entree arrives which included a Mac & cheese. There was absolutely no cheese in the bowl- plain noodles with water that had been sitting under a warmer for a very long time. When I questioned the dish, the waitress said “ I thought it looked weird, let me take that back” The wings were all overcooked and had a minimal amount of sauce. Not good at all. Mid-stay, I attempted to speak with the waitress (very politely) about my concerns and frustrations but she basically shrugged it off and said “there’s only one cook,” and “all I can say is sorry.” This establishment must be paying for their reviews because our overall 2 hour experience was less than desirable. I would definitely NOT recommend this place as an eating establishment. Maybe the reviewers were so drunk that the food actually did taste decent, but do not attempt it while sober. Waste of money. Oh, I never did get my...
Read moreI really want to like this place but I have had 3 unsatisfactory experiences. 1st visit was on a Sunday a few months ago after a bowling tournament nearby only to arrive around 12pm and see a handwritten sign that they would be open at 6pm. We come back at 6pm and order and on our first visit the server was stating how overworked she was and looking for another job. Not really a good sign but whatever, we got our food and it was really good! Decided to try a second time on a Tuesday evening. There were about 15-20 people in the billiards area and we were the only couple in the seating area. Our server took our order of appetizers and entrees and we waited over 40 minutes before we just walked out and ordering somewhere else. (One of the appetizers were chips and salsa; one of the easiest things to put together. We ordered that thinking it would come out fast and hold us over until the entrees came out) but we never saw the server again. Today I placed an online order excited to get the boss quesadillas I bragged about to my mom that was visiting in town only to arrive to the restaurant that was obviously CLOSED. No sign on the door, no cars in the parking lot. Everything online states it’s open today and closes at 12am (Google and Facebook). My card was definitely charged for the food and I can’t reach anyone. This was very disappointing to say the least. It’s really unfortunate because the food is really good, but the service and communication is lacking.
Update: After the owner reached out, I gave it another shot and was not disappointed. Being in the industry I understand the challenges addressed in my initial review and the food more than makes up for it. I appreciate them taking the time to make things right and will continue to...
Read moreStopped in for our first time today. It’s Sunday around 2pm. Only gave 2 stars because the server attempted to make things right.
We were greeted right away as we walked in, were told to sit wherever we would like and decided to sit at a high top table in the bar area. The bartender was also our server, it was only her. Only one couple sat at the bar itself. She took our drink order as we looked over the menus. We went to order and were told they had no wings due to a wing shortage. Ok fine. So, We ordered the Bavarian pretzel, I ordered the pulled pork, my husband ordered a burger on Texas toast, and macaroni and cheese for my son.
We didn’t have to wait long for the food that’s a plus! HOWEVER, I’m pretty sure that’s because their food is not “cooked to order”, it was terrible. The Bavarian pretzel was soaked in cheese and soggy bacon bits. I tried to like it because we were so hungry but.... no. The pulled pork tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, if not days. My husband (who never, ever complains) couldn’t finish the burger. Soggy bread, dry meat, awful taste he said. My son’s Mac and cheese was tasteless. When asked how it was by the cook herself, I told her honestly that it wasn’t good. She told the server and she discounted $9.00. Thank you for that.
There was only a few guys playing pool, it was not busy by any means. Why the less than mediocre food? Why weren’t we told upfront you were out of wings? How come the bartender rarely left from behind the bar and instead handed us our food over the counter? You only have 2 Stella glasses? We were excited to try this place,...
