This is a warning to anyone considering using this Honey Baked Ham location for cartering! My apologies for the lengthy story I am about to write but I believe every bit of information is pertinent for someone in similar shoes:
I am a pharmaceutical sales rep who has used other Honey Baked Ham locations in the past and have had positive experiences. The management at this location, however, is so unprofessional that I will never give any Honey Baked Ham location my business again. It started when I called and spoke to Diana, the Spong Hill location's manager, about catering a lunch at a doctor's office for 10 people the following afternoon. About an hour before the lunch the doctor's office called me and said the doctor had an emergency and they needed to cancel. I called Diana immediately and explained the situation. She informed me that the food was prepared and the delivery driver was on her way to pick it up so they would still need to charge me (despite the fact that the food never even left the facility!). However, she said that she would honor a credit for the amount I was charged and to call her next time I had a lunch. I felt bad about the situation despite it being out of my control and thought that seemed fair, but explained that I needed the receipt before the end of the day so that I could get reimbursed by my company and not have to carry the charge until I was able to use the store credit. She said of course, and asked if she could fax it. I explained that "my office is my car" and I don't have access to a fax machine but gave her my email address. She promised to email the receipt the same day. By the end of the day I still had not heard back, so I called the store again. They said Diana had already left for the day but that they would call her and have her email it to me by the end of the night. The following morning I still had no receipt for the charge on my credit card, so I called the store first thing in the morning (long before any any potential lunch rush). Diana answered and said she was so busy yesterday and was in the middle of helping customers now and that she'd get to it when she has time, and proceeded to hang up the phone on me! The entire afternoon went by and still no email with the receipt. I called at about 2pm and a staff member said that Diana had already left for the day. I decided to drive 30 minutes out of my way to the store and go in and demand my receipt. The staff told me the receipt was locked in the safe and only Diana could access it. I asked to speak to her manager, Philip, the store owner. They put me on the phone with him, and while he was apologetic, he simply tried to make up for the rudeness of his manager and her inability to do her job by offering me a "complimentary cheesecake." I told him a cheesecake would not fix this and that I wanted the receipt and the credit Diana had promised me. Instead of keeping their promise, he said to call him next time I needed a lunch catered and "they'll see what they can do." The next day I received the email with the receipt that I had been chasing down for two days, along with a message from Diana saying that she had been trying to fax me the receipt even though she wrote down my email and knew I had no access to fax.
Two weeks later, I had a lunch I needed catered so I called the store multiple times throughout the day with no answer, which leads me to believe my call was being screened and ignored. So I called Phillip directly. He did not sound pleased to hear that I was trying to cash in on my store credit. This particular lunch was only 8 people, as opposed to 10 at the last lunch, yet Phillip quoted me more money despite there being fewer mouths to feed. I gave him the opportunity to match the same price and he said they will not do it. So, I hung up the phone, called my credit card company and disputed the charge. Never, ever again will I be giving Honey Baked Ham my business. And unless you want to deal with an incompetent and unreasonable management team, I suggest you...
Read moreThis is somewhat lengthy but PLEASE read before ordering from them. My nephew passed away, but I was unable to be with my sister and extended family. I wanted to assist them with meals by ordering ham with some sides so they would know my family and I were thinking of them. I ordered it in the timeframe this store recommended, and I was paying $25 for it to be delivered. They took my card number and said they would call the family the day it was to be delivered and would run my card the same day. Around 3:00 on the delivery day, my sister let me know she still had not been contacted. I called and the person who answered didn't know anything about it and said she was "just filling in for the day" but she would try to find it. I called back to give her the name of who I spoke with and she said she found the order but they didn't have anyone to deliver it!?! She wanted to know if someone could pick it up! We hated to ask the family to do this, but what choice did we have? It was embarrassing since it was a reflection on us but we were MORTIFIED to find out instead of running our card they had the FAMILY pay when they picked it up!?!?! Are you kidding me?!? Talk about "dropping the ball"!!! We were assured they could deliver it so what happened?? And why did they take our card number if they weren't going to run it? I'm concerned I even gave it to them now. ...
Read moreI was so excited to go and get my honey baked ham for Christmas. I had my coupon to get a few dollars off and my coupon to get a free sandwich after joining the HoneyBaked Ham Rewards. It was not crowded one person was ahead of me so I was waited on promptly and was able to pick out my ham. And then I gave the gentleman my coupon for a free sandwich and was told they don't do free sandwiches at holidays. The store still was not crowded and no one was behind me. But I accepted what he said and went to the cash register and again presented my coupon and was told on that particular ham I could not use my coupon. You would think that if they are posting coupons for the HoneyBaked Hams you should be able to use it. I'm very disappointed. If HoneyBaked is going to put out coupons and promotions they should honor them. I'm not very happy with the HoneyBaked Ham Company. I'll think twice before going to HoneyBaked Ham for any special event.
