Disappointed...last month we went to the Silverthorn restaraunt twice and both times it was very good....I don't. know what happened with the new management but we went again last night and it was sad and poor. The waitstaff was virtually non-existent compared to the previous month when we were waited on robustly and the food was brought out in a timely manner. Last night we waited over 45 minutes for the server to bring out the third order of crab legs in the all-you-can eat crab order(s) so we never actually got to eat the third portion, because by this time we were already leaving in addition to that, the crab legs were somewhat mushy unlike the times we were there prior to last evening. So no utensils or hand wipes were brought out with the crab and we had to ask for them and ask for a bucket as well for the shells. The bartender brought these because our server was mia. Several people including the manager.... came to our table during the 45-60 min wait for the third portion of crab and saiid that it was on the way, but it never came until we were all cleaned up and ready to leave...then they brought it out!! Unbeleivable. The website says all-you-can-eat crab $41.00 but we were charged $52.00 for each plate. So two small servings for $52.00...totally not worth it for the mushy crab. In addition to that the Cole slaw did not taste good. Now onto the $38.00 ribeye (all fat) 3/4 of the steak was un-eatable and the baked potato was about the size of a golf ball ....appropriate for the course. Pun intended. When last we were there I ordered the prime rib which was very good and the baked potato was excellent....and of size....this time I had to ask for butter and sour cream ....which I did order with the meal....so the server grunted and went to go get it...like I was doing her a dis-service. We had to basically ask for everything finally I got up to get my own straw because I didn't want to bother the server anymore with frivolous things like silverware and such. Needless to say we are not going back.... and I dare say that probably half of last nights customers won't be back either. It was a total disaster. I understand that the restaurant is under new management but if you are going to cut corners and raise prices the service better be there....but it is not. May I say that the clubhouse has very nice decor and is a comfortable setting. but the ladies room needs an update. Good-bye...
Read moreSee this person, he is the "owner" of The Legends at Silverthorn. WORST customer service I have EVER experienced in my life. Being a business owner for over 16 years in this county I could never imagine people being treated so poorly from an establishment. Please read the screen shots....I made a reservation for today Father's Day. The menu looked good and thought my 91 yr old dad and 94 yr old mom would enjoy a peaceful dinner and a car show. We arrive, was told to sit anywhere because they don't do reservations, though as you see I was told to. So there's a table set for 6, as I reserved for with a tablecloth. We sit here. The host greats us with a paper menu for the car show. Hot Dogs, Hamburger and about 3 other items. I state I was told the "Standard Menu" would apply. NOPE host states owner changed his mind at the last minute. Speak to Manager, she can't do anything. I said I would not get my parents out to have a hot dog in this place, so many great food trucks for that. Poor thing tried to offer discount coupon, I refused, won't be back. She said the owner was cooking the dogs out side so there I went, with a crowd of other dining customers trailing behind me routing me on. I approached the owner after the Manager warned him I was coming. I stated my case, I showed him the messenger conversation and he says we won't cook anything else today. He blames the situation on whoever responds to posts, instead how according to all employees he changed the menu last minute. He said he didn't care what I went thru to get my parents there. And when I stated he is obviously a terrible owner who does not have a team working together and has no clue what is going on with his own business, I told him all 6 of us would not be back. His statement was good, I'm glad you won't be back." That restaurant has struggled for years. This man will just continue to run it in the ground with that attitude. Idc if you have the best food in the world, if your customer service and attitude sucks you will have no business. No apology, no remorse, no "customer is always right," nothing. This review will be EVERYWHERE! (something I don't do) I am blessed to have my parents, could be the last fathers day I get, thank you AH* for...
Read moreWe had a very enjoyable round of golf at Silverthorn last Saturday 5/14/2022. This definitely an Arnold Palmer golf course and I enjoyed walking in the footsteps of one of the Gods of golf. As per Arnolds philosophy this course has many multiple tee's and each tee location changes the course dramatically. I can definitely tell that this course is a gem. While the greens were in terrific putting condition it pains me to report on the condition of the rest of the course. The tee boxes were in fair to poor condition, not awful but not great. The fairways are fun but in fair condition with lots of weeds, bald spots and growing patches of bahiagrass. We just move our ball around until we find good grass. On the positive side they have beautiful clubhouse with restaurant and bar, the service is spectacular, they have a very active league program during the week AND best of all they're not busy on the weekends! You can play a round in less than four hours depending on the bums ahead of you. All in all, I highly recommend you play here whenever you're near Brooksville.
We played again today 7/23 and the course is in incredible condition. Tee's greens, fairways, and the rough are in great well maintained condition. The greens are fabulous Much improved from...
