Angelo’s menu has a collage of choices. There is Italian, Pizza, Greek, BBQ, Burgers, Fried Chicken and on and on…. Big menus usually mean that you don’t have that signature dish that customers keep coming back for and that the restaurant can get caught in a murky pool of mediocracy.

I think the place has a nice bright and clean interior. I really like the faux stone wainscoting and the floors. The atmosphere could have really used some background music. I would have even settled for the usual Frank Sinatra so oft heard in Italian Restaurants. Wait is this an Italian Restaurant? Whatever! Here’s where I usually say the service was good and it was.

The cinnamon whipped butter they serve with the bread is delicious. It really works well at a steakhouse. The creamy chicken rice soup was decent, a little bland and runny but decent. I ordered for my entrée- Chicken Fettucine Alfredo one of my all-time favorite dishes ever. I like theirs, even though the chicken on top was slightly cool and needed to be submerged in the sauce to heat it up. The Alfredo sauce is a solid good, I’d order it again. I also tried the pizza which was another solid good.

For me Angelo’s has an identity crisis. We usually identify restaurants by a theme or ethnicity and I’m not sure what Angelo’s is or was. It’s good, I wouldn’t fall over myself to go back but if I had to go back with a group I’d be OK with that.

P.S. I have worked in the restaurant industry for Greeks, Italians, Jews and even a guy from Iran (best joint ever) and there is an Old Italian restaurant proverb. “Never order spaghetti from a Greek”! I’m sure the Greeks will tell you the same...

The Place Angelo's is located in Spring Valley, Illinois right off St. Rt. 6 by St. Margaret's Hospital. This is a nice family operated and family centered business. This restaurant is larger than it appears from the street with ample space in the car park. There are both tables and booths available with a large dining room for private parties and main dining room overflow. This restaurant is modern, clean, and well maintained.

The Food/Menu Very full menu to chose entrees and appetizers. We have heard great things about their pizza and sandwiches but were focused on fish this evening. We ordered broiled Cod, with a healthy salad, baked sweet potato, and mixed vegetables. For our other entrees we ordered garlic and herb crusted Tilapia, with baked potato, a healthy salad, and Our meals came with very generous portion sizes and were excellent.

The Service/Value/Experience Our server was friendly and efficient!! We found the prices to be very fair for the value presented. We had a great experience and look forward to trying several different entrees and of course the pizza. ...

I went here for the first time in December with family for Christmas dinner and the experience was amazing. The service was excellent and the food was just as good so I knew I was going to get food from there again. I decided on January 10th to get delivery from there and it went from loving it so much to the exact opposite of that because I waited 2 hours for my food to get delivered. I ordered at 6:35 p.m. and it came here 8:45 p.m. the time that I went there and getting it delivered I ordered the same thing which was a gyro roll and the thing had so much cheese on it the first time it was so good and there was enough meat on it for me and then barley this time though there was hardly any cheese on it and a little stingy on the meat. I should have said this before but when the food did get here the delivery person didn't say anything about being sorry for the wait or nothing. It was just a totally different experience from the first time versus this time so I don't know if I'll be getting some food here...
