The inside is nice and warm and smells like the fresh tortillas they make daily. It really is a great place to be. One of the few places in the Illinois Valley that do serve gorditas, however, there are more popping up around and I love it. Gorditas, are my favorite however, all are not made to order due to how long they actually take to make the shell but I am okay. When they do the gorditas here, they are larger than from Marichuy’s Taqueria or Fajita's by a good margin. I still think Fajita's even through owner change are the best due to how fluffy they keep their gorditas. The ones here are fried a bit and it does make them take a hit for me as they are not as thick so you do not get the same thickness as you do from top to bottom slices. The top slice this time was rather thing and just the crispy fried thin layer. These were stuffed with the normal stuff, meat, beans, lettuce, and tomato. It was all very good. The asade was seasoned well in the gordita. Best eaten with knife and fork unlike Marichuy’s Taqueria. I also ordered the enchiladas which were very good however, the green sauce is not for me. I am a red sauce person as I like deeper smokier flavors than the bright green sauce on these. The enchiladas were clearly much better than most as they use fresh tortillas and you can tell by the texture of them. The rice was good as well that was served with them. The women in the place were extremely friendly. My wife, a vegan, told them that she did not want anything but these ladies were not going to take no for an answer. She probed and probe don what she can eat and then after I ordered, about 5 minutes, came out with a fresh tortillas with refried beans. We did ask earlier and the beans are not made with lard but with oil instead so vegan safe. She loved it and we took home a dozen fresh tortillas as well. You can call ahead to order tortillas for a pick up if you want, by the dozen. Then on our way out the lady gave us a couple pieces of plants to take home to plant. Extremely nice place with extremely nice people. I will make sure to go back again. Oh and there were three squeeze bottles of sauces, with the one that looks like the hottest is not. The orange, or light red one possibly mixed with crema is spicier but not my thing and the cream sauce which is another creamy one which was very good as well. The middle one is a normal red looking sauce that has a lot of seeds, so could cause some digestive...
