Jack's Tap — Restaurant in Spring Valley

I went to Jack's for lunch on August 13, 2021. The restaurant is clean and tables are nicely spaced. My server was friendly and quick to take my order. I would give her 4 stars (would be five, but...). I ordered the steak poor boy, upgraded to onion rings and got the upgrade on the poor boy too, which included cheese, onions and bell peppers.

My order arrived and the first thing I noticed was that the onion rings were extremely dark, way over fried. I took one bite and they were bitter and totally overcooked. The sandwich was a good size and when I cut it in half, I noticed a crunching sound. At first I thought they had included rings on the sandwich, but turns out the cheese was completely black and burnt.

My server came by to check on me, and I told her that I thought the rings had been cooked about 8 minutes too long. She replied that she noticed that as well and asked if I wanted a replacement. (this is why she got 4 stars....if she noticed the rings were over cooked she should not have served them). The replacement rings were properly cooked, but very greasy.

The meat on the sandwich was also way over cooked....like my entire order had been neglected.

The beer was cold, so that was good.

The food is alright. It's hit or miss on whether something is going to be made correctly and sometimes certain sandwiches aren't worth the price. The waitress was ok with fixing it the first time but the 2nd time with the different waitress not so much. (Like the fish sandwich you would think would have a normal size piece of fish but had two quarter size pieces, or their pretzel bites were almost burnt when we got them the last time, and we were charged for something that wasn't made correctly so that was a bit annoying) but they have a heated seating area with lots of windows that are nice and its away from...

We've heard great things about this place however our experience wasn't what we've heard. We walked in at 6pm on a Saturday night and all the staff looked at us , but no one greeted us. We stood at the front door for a few minutes and then stopped a bartender and ask if we seat ourselves. "Yep, wherever you like" she replied. One table had a reserved sign, one table was dirty, and 2 tables had just one person alone sitting at a 6 top. The rest were full. We waited around, the wait staff didn't clean the table off and nothing more was said to us. So we walked out and they lost service due to...
