A Heavenly Delight at Chic Sweets
Thank goodness for social media because this bakery came across my feed and I am soooo happy it did. I saw the grand opening on Sunday and couldnât wait to get there Monday to try the coconut cake.
From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by the delightful owner Heather who was so kind. She asked our names because she loves to connect with her customers. I had already low-key stalked the bakeryâs website Sunday and I knew I had to have that coconut cake. When I walked in, I saw it on display and I knew my taste buds were in for an incredible treat.
Let's start with the cookies. Yes I ended up buying cookies too! They had the perfect balance of crispy edges and soft, gooey centers that instantly melted in my mouth. The peanut butter cookies were rich and nutty, while the chocolate chip ones were loaded with generous chunks of chocolate. But the real standout was the "trio" cookie, which combined the heavenly trio of coconut, chocolate chip, and pecans. It was an explosion of flavors, with the sweetness of the coconut, the richness of the chocolate, and the satisfying crunch of the pecans. Absolutely divine!
Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the coconut cake - a true masterpiece. I can confidently say that it's my new favorite cake, hands down. The moment I took my first forkful, I was transported to dessert paradise. The cake was incredibly moist and practically melting in my mouth. The creamy coconut flavor was perfectly balanced, reminiscent of indulging in a luscious coconut cream pie. It was a symphony of taste, with every bite offering a delightful combination of sweetness, creaminess, and pure coconut goodness. I couldn't help but savor every single bite, and I'm already dreaming about my next slice. I did share my two generous slices with my family and everybody said it was the best theyâve ever had!
What truly sets Chic Sweets apart is the dedication to quality and attention to detail. Every treat I tried was crafted love, evident in the wonderful textures and incredible flavors. Ms. Heather was friendly and accommodating, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel like visiting an old friend.
Trust me, this bakery is a gem you don't...
Read moreMy first purchase from Heather Davis, owner of Chic Sweets Dessert Bar, was more than 15 years ago. Back then she was a public-school teacher with baking as her side hustle. It only took one bite of a Heather Davis lemon bar and immediately I joined the gain of people encouraging her to leave the chalk board behind to pursue her God given gift - - baking. Over the years Chic Sweets Desserts has catered every occasion/event for my family. Big and small. Graduations, birthdays, baby showers, holidays, girl's trips, gifts, etc.
While the lemon bars have the highest demand by my son, my absolute personal favorite item are the Texas Pecan Pralines. So good I truly hate to share. And oh my goodness - the coconut cream cake - delicious moist sin on a folk.
If you or a loved one has to restrict sugar, no worries, Heather bakes a diabetic friendly Lemon Pound Cake that is so flavorful delicious and moist you simply won't' believe it's sugar-free.
If you're a first timers at Chic Sweets Dessert Bar I encourage you to not leave without a variety box of the bars (lemon, keylime, butterscotch, and whatever new flavor Heather has created).
The bonus is that not only will Heather prepare you the absolute most delicious desserts, but her spirit is also warm and a joy to engage with. She won't just see you as customer, but an extension of her Chic Sweets Dessert Bar family. Heather will go over and above to ensure that you enjoy your desserts, your order is prepared timely, and you feel appreciated.
Don't delay your visit. Stop by the bakery or order online. Either way you...
Read moreI really wanted to like this business, BUT...my daughter has ordered two cakes from here in less than one month for two important occasions. One was Mother's Day and the other was my retirement party for over 80 guests. There have been serious issues on both occasions. On the pick up date for Mother's Day, she was told the cake was not ready. Nor was it ready the next day. It was delivered to our church on Mother's Day barely before we left to drive across town. My retirement cake melted in the bakery before it was delivered and then was in worse shape when it was delivered to the restaurant. My daughter was almost in tears when she saw it. I nor other guests knew what it was supposed to be. So, the cake remained hidden until it was time to serve it and they hurredly cut it before other guests could see it. Neither occasion were we offered money back or even a discount or offer for a discounted or free cake, dessert, etc for another occasion, not even a cookie. I spoke with someone who attended the grand opening of the shop and they said they noticed there were issues at that time. I find these business practices to be particularly disturbing. I gave it one star because the cake had a good flavor, but who cares about that if your cake arrives and it's ugly? Let me know if you can tell what this is supposed to be. This is after it has one cut on the right side. You can see how the front part slid down. So disappointing!! I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND...
