Initially, I did my best to share (my) personal experience with Tyson. I found her to be extremely dismissive of my concerns with the styling of my hair. Tyson refused to create any other style than the classic “pixie” cut. I’ve shown her various styles including pics and videos that she claimed she either (didn’t) want to make execute or (couldn’t). After receiving the same pixie cut at least 6-7 times, I succumbed to disappointment that her styling was so limited. Our last appt was October 30th. The quick weaves start to rise within 10 days and each time I’ve paid (and TIPPED!) her $140+ per install. I am able to maintain quick weaves for at least a month if installed correctly. Her “fans” on social media can’t drown out or dismiss (my) experience with Tyson, so I decided to move further with addressing it here where my voice matters most. In my opinion, Tyson is a barber and struggles to expand her creativity. I was prayerful and had a upcoming business event and reached out to her in patience to get her to style the pixie again until I found a more diverse stylist. It was against my better judgement. She stood in my head for 2.5hrs with an attitude, and didn’t utter a word to me and declined further appointments after that. I (still) paid her (and) tipped her on my way out. My only emotion was disappointment. I would have preferred she referred me to another stylist OR simply refused my money. I even offered to leave and try again another time because her ENERGY was so NASTY! I never want to feel like that again. A woman’s hair is her crown. I trusted her. I was timely and personable every visit. I didn’t deserve it. MY EXPERIENCE is MINE and I don’t have to argue with her “fans” on social media. The google reviews got me, too! She will also state this quick weave is “old”. That’s not accurate. I’ve asked her to STOP giving me this high barber tapered. I asked for a “wispy tapered” neckline. That’s why the quick weave rises quickly. $140 per install and it lasts 10 days...
