Let me just say — if you haven’t been to Casa Nueva, you’re seriously missing out on one of the best Mexican dining experiences in the city. I don’t leave reviews often unless a place really deserves it, but this spot? Deserves ALL the flowers. From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with warm lighting, colorful décor, and music that instantly sets a chill, fun, and authentic vibe. It feels like you’re about to eat somewhere that’s about to become your new favorite.
The staff is friendly and on point. We got seated quickly even though it was a busy night, and our server checked on us consistently without being overbearing. They answered all our questions, gave solid recommendations, and brought everything out fresh and hot. You can tell they actually care about their customers and take pride in the experience.
Now let’s talk about the food — which is really the star of the show. I ordered the chicken and steak fajita combo, and it came out on that classic sizzling skillet that literally made half the restaurant turn and stare. Not only was it Instagram-worthy, but the flavor was insane — smoky, savory, juicy, and packed with just the right amount of seasoning. The veggies were perfectly charred, not soggy, and everything was piping hot. The homemade tortillas were soft, warm, and tasted fresh like they were just made minutes before. I also tried their birria tacos, and I’m not even exaggerating when I say they’re some of the best I’ve had in the area. The meat was tender and rich, and that consommé dip? Chef’s kiss.
My friend ordered the enchiladas verdes, and the sauce had the perfect amount of tang and spice — not too overwhelming, just full of flavor. The rice and beans on the side were actually good too, not just some filler. You’d be surprised how many places mess that up, but Casa Nueva really gets every detail right.
Now onto the drinks — listen… their margaritas are dangerously good. I had the mango one with Tajín on the rim, and it was the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and strong enough to let you know it’s working. No weird aftertaste, no watered-down flavor. Just clean, crisp, and smooth. My friend had the classic lime on the rocks and loved it. We also saw micheladas and palomas coming out of the bar that looked like art — tall glasses rimmed with chamoy, fresh fruit garnishes, salt rims, the whole deal. The drinks alone could make this place a repeat stop.
What really stood out to me was the value. For the amount and quality of food you get — plus the strong drinks and great service — the prices are super reasonable. It’s rare to find a place that doesn’t feel like it’s cutting corners, and Casa Nueva definitely isn’t. Whether it’s a weekday lunch or a Friday night out, it feels worth it every single time. And don’t sleep on their happy hour deals, either. You can get a solid buzz and a full plate of food without breaking the bank.
The vibe is also spot-on. Whether you’re coming with friends, family, on a casual date, or even solo to treat yourself, it feels welcoming and fun. They sometimes have live music, and it just adds to the atmosphere without being too loud or in-your-face. It’s a good balance between lively and laid-back. Even the bathrooms were clean — which, let’s be honest, says a lot about how a place runs behind the scenes.
Long story short: ✅ Incredible food with big portions ✅ Top-tier margaritas & drinks ✅ Great service and staff ✅ Chill, fun, colorful vibe ✅ Affordable and 100% worth it
I’ve already told like five people they have to try this spot, and I’m definitely coming back again (probably more than I should, if I’m being honest 😅). This place is a gem, and I hope it stays...
Read moreI wish I could have gave them zero stars. The service was terrible. Starting with the waitress taking our drink order, she came back with margaritas quick, but forgot the waters. The lady kept running past our table not even looking in our direction so it was impossible to get her attention. A different waitress took our food order that didn’t really speak or understand English in the middle of her taking the menu my husband margarita waste all over table. She quickly brought back napkins, so I clean the table. The waitress never came back to the table to get the wet napkins. I finally was able to scream out to our original waitress to ask her to bring more napkins and to refill my husband margarita cause he didn’t even drink any yet. The waitress who don’t speak English looked at me with a confused face with no understanding and just walked off. Trying to get the other waitress attention was impossible I felt invisible. A different lady came with our food and I asked her could she get the napkins and bring silverware and refill my husband margarita, she didn’t speak English either and spoke in Spanish stating to wait one minute. She never came back. I finally caught the lady that grab our menu when the drink wasted. So I asked her to refill the drink cause he didn’t get to take a sip before it wasted. Her English was so broken, she understood a little and stated when need to speak with the manager. She came back with the margarita refilled stated next time we need to speak to manager. I told her I wouldn’t mind speaking to the manager cause the service has been terrible. She stated next time not really understanding. The food was cold, the service was just the worst I ever had here. The original waitress never came back to our table to even check on us. I had been coming to this restaurant for several years. They are about to...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming to Casa Nueva for a long time, probably around 10 years or so. In that course of time, I honestly have to say I don't think we've ever had a bad meal. Not even once comes to mind. There's like 10 of us so we've tried a lot of what's on the menu and it's all solid Tex Mex! The service is always great. They wait on you like you were familia! The Salsa is bomb! The rice is bomb! The Chile con queso is a must! The flamedo, the Nachos any way, The Shrimp Bruschetta, The Fajitas, The Quail, The Enchiladas any way, The burritos, LITERALLY EVERYTHING YOU COULD THINK OF IS TOP NOTCH! My personal favorites are the Quail, The steak Fajita enchiladas, or the Fajita Nachos! You can not go wrong with these three! My wife loves the Enchiladas Verde, she legit gets them almost every time we come. If not, she gets the Tacos Del mar or the Flautas! Last but not least, what Tex Mex place is complete without Margaritas!? So many to choose from but it's either gotta be The Patron, or the Mango Chamoy! If you're in a beer kinda mood the Micheladas are the moves! Come here and you won't be unhappy! You...
