Let me start with, I was at Enza on 9/10. It’s not my first time and it won’t be my last but next time I will get up and help the place get out of the weeds.
Food and Service is always on point. The kitchen staff does an amazing job and my server was kind, friendly and professional.
Issue was they got hit at six and most likely didn’t recover until after I left at or 8:10. My appetizers came out on time, pre rush, but poor execution on sitting everyone that showed up. Should have put everyone on 10 - 15 minute wait. This sent the place spiraling.
Entrees came out 20 mins apart from each other which tells me the expo was underwater and in the weeds, which I could observe from my seat. I got one entree then 20 mins later the side and then 10 mins later the 2nd entree. Poor execution here and where was the manager? Didn’t see one at all. I wanted to get out my seat and jump in to help take the restaurant back.
Another point, turn off your take out app or advise your team there is no take out. Your restaurant is sinking and you’re guest sitting in at the restaurant are having a HORRIBLE experience. I see this too often. Turn that take out app off and no phone orders.
People in your seats are the most important aspect of your business.
I’ll be back because the food is excellent, the staff FOH / BOH are excellent and execute.
Bad night but could have been avoidable.
Finally ditch those meatballs you had and go back to the originals I had two weeks earlier.
Love the place, bad night, new to the neighborhood and I’ll be back for many...
Read moreI am writing this after my second visit to Enza. To be honest, the first visit was not good enough to want to come back. I just didn't write a review at that time. It was just "meh". This time I went as part of a group. Now that I have been there twice, I would say Enza simply lacks "attention to detail" in so many areas.
The calamari was pretty good, but other dishes only okay. My friend ordered the butternut squash ravioli. Though he said it was good, it arrived lukewarm. The ravioli laid flat in the middle of a pool of sauce that appeared to be separated. It fully lacked any sense of presentation. I had a white pizza and requested broccoli added. The broccoli was completely raw. Most cooks know to blanch the broccoli to bring out the flavor. It won't "cook" on top of a pizza!
As to beverages, my friend ordered a Guinness. We knew it came in a can. But the wait person brought it to the table without even thinking about a glass - not even to offer one. My friend had to ask for one. Comically, the can says on it "Best enjoyed when poured in a glass!".
So, it's just a lack of connecting with customers and what they want and need, AND someone should consider reviewing menu items and the presentation.
Incidentally, one of our party said she had been there only to be in the bar scene and had enjoyed that. So maybe staying at the bar for drinks is the...
