Went there yesterday with my wife. Had what i think is the best chicken sandwich of all my 51 years on this earth. Now there are 2 types of people in this world , those who eat to live, and those who live to eat. I am of the latter, so i take it very serious when i say "the best" of anything. Lets start with the ladies behind the counter of the Coop Cafe. You deserve a raise! They were so wonderful, I explained it was our first time there and they were so helpful and explaining everything. My wife and I both got the "The Plain Jane" which is "Crispy chicken with melted Monterey jack cheese" we added mayo and pickles. I also went across the isle to the main chicken coop and got a order of the famous JOJOs. They called us for our sandwiches and these sandwiches are HUGE! the pictures do not do them justice. This is PURE chicken, breaded and fried to perfection. There is no processed crap in this at all. The chips were really good also, My wife said they were some of the best chips she had. I must admit the JOJOs potatoes i was not as impressed with, however they did taste good, I think the hype of them raised my expectations of them to a level they could not reach. They were not crispy at all and were a little soggy, I got them and walked right across the isle to our table in the cafe, so its not like they steamed in the foil for 20 mins while i drove home. They were good though. I would still rec ommend getting them, however with the size of the sandwiches, i dont think you need a additional side. Was not not expecting such a huge sandwich. The people behind the counter also gave a small sample cup of the sweet hot honey sauce that people normally put on the chickin, its homemade and was AMAZING. I will tell you if you have any thoughts of going to get something to eat in that area, DEF go and stop by and see the Chicken Coop Cage. you will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to go back to be honest with you. I will see you all REAL SOON. Thank you so much for a...
Read moreService was quick and the cashier was nice enough but honestly the food was gross. Not good fried chicken at all. It really just tasted like grease and flour. I don’t know why this place has so many good reviews. They upsold us on the fried potatoes and honestly, I wish I did not buy them. Totally underwhelming and not even crispy. Also, I know chickens have feathers and I understand if they’re butchering their own birds that it’s not always going to be perfect, but when I have to PLUCK OFF little chicken hairs, I just will not be eating it. I feel bad for wasting food but I had to throw it all away. On the flip side the sweet tea was good! So, yeah…mediocre chicken at a pretty high price. Maybe I just caught them on an off day? Don’t know, but will NOT be returning. The Amish BBQ down the aisle is much better...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place based on the amount of people ordering but unfortunately i was left disappointed. This food lacks seasoning all around. I tried the Thighs, a wing, mac n cheese, potato salad, macaroni salad, and candied yams. I am pretty sure the yams are from a can and just a little extra brown sugar mixed in. The wings are just average. The sides however were all very bland and had no hint of any seasoning. They were also out of gizzards when i went. The prices are fair and the staff is well organized and cordial. With all that in mind i would patron this place again only to try the gizzards and the kielbasas which looked good. If those arent tasty i would select another of the many...
