Ordered Bourbon Chicken, Cajun Rice, Steamed Vegetables.
Got Bourbon Chicken, Cajun Rice, Cajun Spuds.
The Bourbon Chicken was the standard mall court fare or chinese buffet standard Bourbon chicken. It was without sauce. I didn't find sauce until I got 90% done with the plate. The Cajun rice was basically white rice with grippos seasoning added. The potatoes were sliced potatoes with the skins on dipped in Grippo seasoning and deep fried or baked. The rice and potatoes were spicy so you definitely must like spice to order. Nothing seemed particularly fresh and seemed to be sitting for a few hours. The photos are deceiving because they show fresh sticky sauced pieces of fresh chicken and this is just the standard Bourbon Chicken kits that restaurants get, nothing special about their house specialty. At the mall you get a similar plate for $8 with drink. At a chinese buffet this would only be one of several dozen dishes offered for the same price. I feel like the order was overpriced for what it is by $5.00. I can't recommend this restaurant as more than standard food. I would skip this restaurant and try another place. I will...
Read moreMy friends and I went to try this restaurant today. Unfortunately, they are not ADA friendly. I walked in with my service dog, and was initially turned away. When I walked outside, I told my friends that the guy inside, I believe "moe" was his name, had informed me due to religious reasoning dogs were not allowed in this establishment. Curiously, I asked about where's the No Service Animals sign? To which he stated they were a new business and hadn't ran into this "issue" before. I said no worries, but maybe invest in that sticker/sign so you won't have these kinds of "issues" moving forwards. We went to leave, and were chatting in the parking lot deciding on where to go eat instead, when the guy came out to ask my friends if my dog "was a real service dog and he'd make an exception and move a table outside for us".... we politely declined and headed on over to AppleBee's.
I cannot recommend this establishment, as I need ADA accommodations. This establishment doesn't offer them. Not service animal friendly.
I hope whoever goes here has a better experience...
Read moreUpdate, they've started flipping the screen to beg for tips but if you use cash it's their kryptonite. They won't ask for a cash tip only if they can flip their little screen around and beg without asking. If you go use cash, it's good but if you're in and out what service are they providing that entities then to a tip?
Brown Street comes to Springfield. We're always on the lookout for something different, something good, so when we saw the sign we know would be trying it. Little did we know we kind of already had. We've gone to Brown St. in Dayton many times and ended up at Bourbon St grill because it's good and we know what we're going to get there, then to find out this is part of that. The food here is good, the service is real good. Been twice and haven't been disappointed. Personable people, good portion sizes, good food. I can't tell you how much I like that they wrap the containers to prevent leaking, a common issue with bourbon chicken places, a 5 star touch...
