How much fun is this place?!? This is our new favorite discovery of the day! They have the best food we've had anywhere and the people are even better! We took our 6-year-old grandson in for a late lunch after spending the day at the Discovery Center. This was his favorite discovery of the day! He has dairy allergies and they were so good to make sure he didn't have anything prepared in anything dairy. He got the grilled chicken tenders and fries. He said they were the best he's ever had from anywhere and from that picky little eater, he said it's a 10-star review! 😃 Hubby got the double cheeseburger and fries. He said they were the best. The fries have a seasoning on them that makes them almost slightly sweet but SOOOOOO good! It's the best place for a great, old-fashioned burger made right! And he said you HAVE to have the coconut cream pie! It's the best since my great-grandmother's, with real meringue! I got the sirloin ground steak smothered in brown gravy, onions, and mushrooms with mashed potatoes. It was incredible! The patty is large, tender, and perfectly cooked to order 😋 They also have daily specials available. The day we were there, there was a photo shoot for a magazine for a Route 66 write-up. If you are looking for a fun place to eat with the Route 66 vibe, you won't want to pass this place up! And don't forget to add your name to the wall!!! I have never been anywhere that the owner and employees were so kind and fun!

Love this cafe, anyway. But, it was the 1st business I found open with power on the west side after this storm. Anyhow, I ordered their fish sandwich lunch special that came with baked beans and potato salad. I don't like baked beans at all, and I wasn't going to order them. But, I decided I would since it was part of the special and to comment. We'll, I'm glad I did bc it was the best baked beans I've ever had. The potato salad was like none I've ever had. It's like one of those secret recipe things you can't describe. You'll just have to try it for yourself. I asked for extra tartar and watched as it was being made. I love house made sauces and it was delicious. The lettuce kept the sauce in, so it was not a messy sandwich. Crispy Alaskan Pollock. Bread to fish ratio, perfect. I know that's a funny thing to comment on. But, if you know what I mean, you know what I mean, lol. It's the small things that add up to the whole. The staff are always friendly and quick and the Chef came out and chatted with me. Also, the clientele are great, as well. You will find yourself having convos with people/tables next to you. I've mentioned before, best mom n pop in town.

This super-cute diner on the Mother Road is a good place to stop if you’re hungry and driving Route 66. From our experience, they almost seem to cater more to locals after dark than tourists, as we felt they assumed that we were familiar with the menu. On the night we went, the service was terrible. The waitress sat down at the last table and scrolled her phone for an extended amount of time before coming to get our order, admitting that she’d “forgotten about us.” Had it not been for this, I’d have given them 5 stars for the retro diner appearance and atmosphere. The food was all right; sadly, we did not save room for some of their delicious-looking pies. All in all, I am not sad that we stopped, and I might try it again. I’ll bet that the joint is hopping in the daytime.

Review: College Street Cafe

I recently had the pleasure of dining at College Street Cafe, and it was an experience worth sharing. Our visit was not only enjoyable but also incredibly accommodating, especially given the strict medical diet my daughter has to adhere to.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming vibe. The decor was fun and creative, giving the place an energetic yet cozy atmosphere. It clearly appeals to a variety of patrons, from students to families, making it a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy good food.

The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the staff's willingness to customize our order to suit my daughter’s dietary needs. Navigating meals with specific dietary restrictions can often be challenging, but the staff at College Street Cafe went above and beyond to ensure her meal was both safe and delicious. Their attention to detail and genuine care made us feel incredibly valued as customers.

As for the food, it was delicious! Every dish we ordered burst with flavor, and the presentation was delightful. It's clear the chefs take pride in what they do. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, or a comforting dinner, there's something on the menu for everyone.

In summary, College Street Cafe is not only a fun and tasty place to grab a meal but also a welcoming environment for anyone with specific dietary preferences or needs. Their combination of delicious food, fun atmosphere, and exceptional customer service makes this cafe a must-visit. Highly...
