Maybe unfair, I’m a foodie. My palate has brought out chefs from Coast to Coast to talk to me and give me cooking hints.

The seafood salad, had surpassed its time. It was soft and mushy, the flavor was slightly off. I could not eat it.

As for the sashimi, I’ve had much better, and sold them worse, but yes, I have been served worse. The softshell crab rolls required sauce to cover up the marginal flavor. I could not taste softshell crab, but I think I detected the tempura.

It may have just been a bad day. It appears that many people do enjoy them and their food. Right now, 20/25 min after eating, My stomach is not setting easy.

The rice was OK, considering what I’m comparing it to which is average. It is impossible to compare it to a 20-30 year Mester of sushi rice. There’s something magical to a two rice, in the hands of a master. At least the rice was not hard, nor was it totally mushy. The flavor was not distinct. The vast majority of people will be quite content, because of the opportunity to taste rice from a master. This I know because it took me over 45 years before I actually had this magical perfect sushi rice. Until then I did not know what I was missing.

Note : I was classified as a super taster, until chemotherapy, despite still being considered a super taster. This is why I said my review may be...

The parking lot had only one car at 6pm, which should have been our first clue that the ratings on this restaurant were skewed. The overall all appearance is dinghy and in disrepair, but that’s not always an indication that the food would be bad. We were greeted by a pleasant young man, who was fairly attentive to us. He brought our water quickly, and got our order promptly. The sashimi was very fresh and tasty, so we had high hopes the rest of our meal would be as well, in spite of the dirty interior of the restaurant. I ordered spicy hibachi shrimp, which came with veggies, noodles and a type of fried rice. It was very bland, and the vegetables weren’t cooked well. My husband ordered teriyaki chicken and his food was very bland as well. Had we read the reviews rather than just looked at the star ratings we never would have gone to this place. I hope the owners pay attention to the reviews and improve, as they seemed like nice folks, even though no one seemed interested in cleaning. They all sat on their phones in separate parts of the restaurant, waiting for customers who weren’t coming. There weren’t even any take out orders, which tells you all you...

I had the Hibachi Steak. My wife had the Hibachi Chicken. We each tried both dishes and were impressed with the quality of the food. We both liked the chicken more, as it was more tender and flavorful. Both dishes had a few vegetables mixed in. They were mostly ok, but the broccoli was not very good. It was both raw and burned at the same time. Both dishes came with rice and noodles, and portions were large. The entrees came with a trip to the salad bar, which had very little selection, although everything was very fresh. There is no actual kid's menu, so we ordered our son a side of hibachi chicken and a side of noodles. He loved it all. We also had the Mylan roll from the sushi menu. It was drowning in one of the sauces, so it was a little disappointing, but it was good enough that I would give the sushi menu another try. All in all, the meal was a great value. Much cheaper than most hibachi options in Springfield, with only a small sacrifice in quality. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely eat here again. The place could use a...

One of the Strangest—and Most Unsettling—Dining Experiences I’ve Ever Had From the moment I arrived, something felt off. The restaurant looked eerily abandoned—no lights on outside, and barely any flickering inside. It had the visual charm of a forgotten film set, not a place where you’d expect food or service of any kind. I hesitated at the door, and honestly, I should’ve trusted my instincts. Inside, the atmosphere didn’t improve. Dim lighting, dead silence, and an overall sketchy vibe left me uneasy. Things only got worse from there. The customer service was cold and distant, and the food… well, that’s where things took a bizarre turn. At one point, I stared down at a piece of sushi and could’ve sworn it moved. I wish I were joking. After eating, I was hit with a massive stomach ache—and I never get stomach aches. Something was clearly not right. This wasn’t just a bad meal—it was a culinary red flag. I would strongly caution anyone even considering this place to think twice. Sometimes, your gut knows what your stomach will find out too late.

After I said teriyaki chicken and shrimp I get only shrimp so I call them and I drive up to get my teriyaki chicken. They made me pay $3 extra when I am a regular which I knew the prices but they made a mistake. I paid the $3 dollars and this is what I get: I tried talking to the ladies about it and they completely dismissed me. I usually love this place and recommend it to everyone. When the sweet gentleman with the Camaro is working I would go back but other then that! No way.

I had some time to kill, waiting for a Springfield business appointment and since I'm a fan of sushi 🍣 I was looking for some recommendations. I found this establishment and stopped in. For about $26 I had a great lunch👍🏻. When I mentioned the name of the place to some local musician friends, they said that it was a good choice. When my plans to move to Springfield transpire, I intend to go to Little Tokyo again. This time I'll bring a picture to sign for them. 🫶😉✌️
