If I could give zero stars, I would. Typically, I give so much grace and understanding to restaurants when they make mistakesâŚfast food, short order, sit downâŚall of them. Today I go to Wendyâs in Springfield to order for my family and it took forever, but thatâs not my complaint. I ordered all of my meals and when I get to the first window to pay, the girl opens the window and just rattles off my total and takes my card. The only reason she told me âyou tooâ was because I told her thank you and to have a great night. When I finally made it to the food pick up window the window was opened and not a word said. The girl handed me 3 food bags and 3 drinks and then shut the window. When she saw I wasnât leaving she opened the window again and instead of saying, âIs there something else I can help you with?â Or âDid you need something else?â She just stared at me until I spoke. I told her I ordered 4 meals. She pulls the receipt off and looks at it and then back at me. Again, she doesnât say a word. I asked, âI only paid for 3, didnât I?â She shook her head yes and I said, âWell I need 4â. AGAIN, says NOTHING!! I asked, âAm I going to have to pull BACK through the drive thru??â She made a face and said yes. I grabbed my receipt and left the window and instead of going through the drive thru (because it was long) I went inside. It took just as long and the girl exchanged glances with me a couple of times. She ended up leaving work at the same time I got my food. Iâm not sure if she was in a hurry to clock out or what. I was more than happy to pay for the 4th meal, but to make someone go all the way back to start all over for a mistake that was made during the order is frustrating. At the very least, they couldâve just allowed me to pull up as if my food wasnât finished yet, and allow me to wait for the rest. Normally I wouldn't be upset, but ALL they have to do is put out a couple of signs near the drive thru line to let ppl know if they are out of items. Plus the place is only a few months old and the machine is already down?? The dining room closes at 8, which keeps a long drive thru line later in the evening. The first time we went, we were able to go into the dining area. I was able to see they were fully staffed, but were SO slow. The staff seemed to be milling around like they didn't have a line outside wrapped around the building. It took a few minutes for anyone to even come take our order even though a few employees definitely saw us standing there. When I tried to order a special sale item I was told that special was over they just haven't taken the sign off the menu board. Being it was the manager that was taking our order (finally) you would think the special would be honored, but nope. They gave me small fries when it was supposed to be large, then only filled the large about half way.
