Solid wing spot in the area. Long wait so call your order well in advance. To earn the fifth star I would like to see faster service or at least less confusion or better communication. During peak times this place can become the Thunder Dome. But the wings are absolutely worth it.
The Food: The wings were crispy and delicious, they smelled better than typical wings, so that's a plus. We had garlic parmesan, BBQ, cajun blackended, and their hottest wings (After Burner). All wings were very well prepared the Cajun Blackened were my favorite. As a spicy food lover I found their hottest wings After Burner well seasoned but it did not quite give me the burn I was looking for (non-spicy foodies watch out these will still mess you up something bad).
Their spice levels are as follows: Wimpy Cruisin Altitude Red Alert Jet Fuel After Burner
Complete Wing Flavor list: BBQ, honey bbq, kickin' bbq, teriyaki, spicy teriyaki, golden bbq, honey mustard, garlic parmesan, jamaican jerk, sweet onion bbq, cajun blackened, west texas mesquite, mustang ranch, cajun teriyaki, cajun bbq, hot garlic, citrus chipotle, oriental sesame
The Place: Easy to spot sign right on the corner next to a gas station. The interior is somewhat cramped and can probably sit around 30 people. Think of a typical small to medium sized McDonalds, that's what the interior is like. This is a fast food joint not a service restaurant, you order at the cashier, take a number and wait. When your food is ready they will call your name/number and you sit yourself at a table or booth. There are no waiters here.
Price: Reasonably priced wings, but not the cheapest around. The discount comes in if you're ordering a large order. The more you order the bigger the discount. Also their portions have Airplane names so that could be a...
Read moreSixteen Acres local since birth , have always loved this place . Been a staple for takeout chicken . Last 5 years quality of product , customer service have tanked . With a hopeful rebrand and attention from corporate , there were some improvements in customer experience . After a long time , I wanted to give them a chance . Called in an order for pickup , and was asked by a “Corey B.” payment options other than cash . I said neither , I’m paying cash” “He responded , “we can’t do that” I logically responded “Why is that ? Not to make your job more difficult brother , but in any food service establishment that payment is accepted , cash should be one of them” , and he quickly responded by saying something about the cook staff not receiving the ticket / receipt for a pick up order with cash (not a pay-ahead method) . After confidently pushing , expressing that this is at the minimum a flaw , if not , shouldn’t be allowed , he allowed me to place my order per normal . After 15 minutes , I was notified my order was ready for pick up . The same individual , Corey , was the one to accept my payment for the food , in which , he seemed frustrated and socially-short . I asked where any tip jar was , and he nodded with his head (towards where a full beverage cup of random items was) in front of him . IMHO , if you want loyalty and recurring customers for your over-priced okay food , at least have some employees that pretend to care . Hope to return when there are further well-needed...
Read moreI've been to this Wings Over many times throughout the years and this last time I went really didn't sit well with me. I went to pick up my online order and on my way in, I encountered two young ladies eating and chatting at the front counter, but since they were the only people there, i walked up to them. When I got to the counter there was absolutely no welcoming vibe from them, I barely was even acknowledged and they finally did because I spoke up and said I had an online order. They hand me my order and continue chatting away together. When I get to my car I realize I wasn't given the drink I ordered, so I went back in and asked for it politely and left. When I got home I noticed I was missing the fries with my order and decided to give them a call and let them know of the mistake and that I don't live too far and would go back for them. I was in no way disrespectful. When I finally looked at the fries they gave when home, it looked like they gave me all the fries from the bottom of a bag. I believe it was done out of ill will. The staff at this place during 8pm are very unprofessional. Having worked at several fast food franchises I can say that this Wings Over needs to do a better job hiring people who at least will do their job and not give their customers below bare minimum...
