This place is fire!
As a person who has never been into wrestling my initial thoughts when I saw this restaurant had opened were that the theme was a very bold choice.
We finally got around to visiting today and after a few minutes I decided it was a lot more endearing than I expected. The kids in there were having the optimum amount of fun with it and that pretty much describes the atmosphere too: the optimum amount of fun without being too much.
The staff were friendly and talked us through the menu with a smile. Food was out very fast so it would be a great stop when you're hurried or hangry or both.
And then the food itself just hits. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. A great balance of quality and price, flavorful without overpowering the other ingredients / you. Pico and cilantro were good, sour cream and guacamole were excellent and crisply creamy. Meat was good without being fatty.
I had the nachos with everything. Portions were massive. I've already eaten two meals off it and I don't think I've even passed the halfway mark yet.
The rice was notably good so I think I'll probably try a rice bowl next go around. All the ingredients hit though so I suspect you can't miss no matter what you do.
The ONLY complaint I could make is that the take home containers might be too small for the amount of food. I could barely fit my leftovers in AFTER...
Read moreFirst, the restaurant (particularly for being in a gas station) has a perfect atmosphere for dining. You forget its in a gas station. The decor is all authentic and personally chosen by the owner (who, by the way, is a very friendly man with a passion for customer service). We ordered two tacos to try the food. Mine was chicken, the chicken was cooked to perfection! My companion had beef and was not as happy. The soft taco shell very small and was chewy wth the consistency of wet play dough (sadly!). The strange condiments were: an onion bulb not cooked with slices of red radish not cooked and a uncooked pepper. The cost was around $10 which seems excessive considering the portion of food. We did not get chips and salsa (which I have always been given with "to go" orders). I assume chips and salsa are give at no charge to "dine in" customers. The wait was about 10 minutes, so I gather that each taco was made at the...
Read moreCool little modern and trendy Mexican restaurant. They have a pretty wide menu that allows you to build bowls, burritos, nachos, fries and other options. They offer several different protein options. We had the chips with salsa, queso and guacamole which was good. We also had the steak, chorizo and marinated pork tacos. These are more like street tacos than your regular Mexican restaurant foods. The decor is really cool with a large screen t.v. that plays Mexican wrestling. Pretty cool concept. They offer several beer options as well as some pre made drinks that looked like margaritas. Next time I will order my tacos a little less chopped so the meat is more moist. Overall a very clean cool restaurant with really cool wrestling masks on display. They also have a drive thru window. I have also had the barria tacos. They were great dipped...
