Java Junkie, once a beloved spot for me, has recently fallen short of my expectations. On my last visit, I was charged more than I had agreed to pay. Three times in the past, I had tipped, bringing my total to $19 with a cash tip. However, when I checked my statement, I was charged $24. This discrepancy piqued my curiosity, so I decided to double-check my total during my next visit. I paid a $2 tip for a $7 coffee and was charged just over $10. This pattern continued when I went again this morning.
This time, I wasn’t planning to tip because I suspected the girl taking my order on the iPad was adding a tip herself. When I ordered my coffee, the total was $7.46. Since I wasn’t tipping, I expected my statement to reflect $7.46. However, when I reached the window and asked the girl to confirm the total, she informed me that it was $7.46 after tax. I pointed out that I had charged $8.46 on my credit card, and she explained that there was an automatic $1 tip added.
It’s worth noting that this has happened exclusively at the Springville location, and I’ve noticed that the same girl is involved in each instance. This experience has left me thoroughly disappointed, and I can’t say that I’ll be returning to Java Junkie anytime soon. My sister, who introduced me to the place, has had a similar experience, which further emphasizes the importance of maintaining customer...
Read moreI have been going to this coffee shop since it opened. It has been my favorite place to go and I tell EVERYONE about it. The last few months however have been absolutely horrible and this morning was it for me, I won't be back. I get the same thing every time I go, every once in a while I'll get something different but rarely. I always ask for an extra shot and it actually happens about 20% of the time. I always get a 32oz and they gave me a 24oz. I told them that's not what I ordered (or paid for) so their solution was to dump my drink back in the blender and just add ice to make it a 32oz. I don't even think they put espresso in my drink let alone an extra shot most of the time. I have spent A LOT of money here and to see it go down hill is sad. The drinks are inconsistent and I'm chalking that up to poor training or just pure laziness. I guess I'm back on the hunt for a new coffee shop because this just...
Read moreDrink flavor changes by the barista and has for years. My solution now is to try my drink before I leave but sometimes they get testy about fixing it. Make all your drinks the same and you won't have to fix!
Each time I've visited lately the employees have been chatting in a group too busy to focus on the customer. Not a hello, nor a hi, just a loud conversation between employees, so loud I cannot even get their attention when needing assistance.
One barista offered a punch on my receipt because I left my card home. The second barista refused to honor said solution (after they've asked for a tip 3 cars back). And ushered us out of line as quickly as possible. Don't offer a service and give zero solution or take one back that was already offered.
I have delt with their poor behavior for months, the ignorance and lack of problem solving simple issues will keep me away. Change in management isn't...
