My sisters and I came because we enjoyed everything about our previous visit together. This visit was hardly what we were expecting. To start, the "hostess" was clearly ready to go. She slapped our menus on the table and gave us the most Insincere "enjoy your meal" I have ever heard. When it came time to order drinks we tried to get a pitcher of Mango Mimosas. They didn't have that. So we asked for the Lemon Drop Mimosa. They didn't have that. So we finally settled on the Fuzzy Mosa. It was supposed to be flavored with orange juice and peach snaaps. There were no traces of peach anything and there was only enough oh to slightly change the color of the champagne. Basically when they showed us regular mimosas or strawberry, that's the kind they intended to make and we didn't get the hint as we thought we would be able to order whatever we wanted listed on the menu. Our orders were quickly taken after the drink situation was handled. The food, however, took quite awhile considering there were but many people in the restaurant. I ordered the Salmon BLT. The salmon was cooked well but had absolutely no flavor. One sister ordered the NY Strip meal cooked medium. The cow looked to have been butchered on the plate her steak was served on. The steak appeared tough as she really liked like she was struggling to break the bite down enough so it was safe to swallow. The other sister simply ordered French toast with a side of strawberries and bananas as well as scrambled eggs and turkey bacon. She was only made aware of the additional charge for the fruit. Nothing about a difference in price for turkey bacon. I still had food as my sisters were finishing up. Our server proceeds to reach across the table armpit in my face and over my food so she could collect dirty dishes. I was over the experience by this time. It took forever to flag her down for the check. I was tired of waiting after 10 minutes so I flagged another server down to close out the bill. We should have give with our first mind and left when we saw the mimosas were trash.

Update: Sister who ate French toast breakfast is throwing up! Im certain it's the fresh fruit that got her. If they don't have to heat it, don't eat it! I'd also like to note that if the mimosas wouldn't have been garbage, we would have spent way more than $100. Couldn't justify spending a cent more when we realized we were unhappy with what was brought to us and as knew there wouldn't be any other listed...

With inattentiveness, whoever maintains the website and phone lines for Chris's Pancakes have ruined my Christmas Morning with my family.

My Christmas was not a happy one. My parents visiting in a tiny cramped space for over a week and not respecting my personal boundaries made most of the experience stressful. Yet I love them dearly and wanted to at least show them their child isn't a complete and utter failure even though every single day and every single frown or concern from them proved otherwise. Surely, SURELY I am competent enough to check a business's website or call them to ensure the establishment is open right?

I call the location, I get the machine. The machine tells me they are open daily with few non holiday related exceptions then further tells me to check the waitlist. I go to the website to check the waitlist. It is empty. The website itself is normal, is a little festive themed advertising a drink again showing the hours of operation with no mention of the holidays or exceptions that would say they are closed on holidays.

Your website's overall design is pretty good, relatively simple with wide spaces and large words to attract the eyes to various features. It just needs more accurate information. It seriously wouldn't be too hard to have different versions of the same page for each holiday you plan on having special hours or closed days on that would display based on the date in a relatively short amount of time, especially if you hire the same person that already knows your codebase. Most Javascript UI focused Library packages encourage the use of single page applications, which means the page components could be swapped out with little resource load. As for the robot phone line that told me sweet lies, I have no expertise on how those are programmed.

Things may have sucked today, but I rated the food a 5 because the last time I was here, it was during the pandemic where everywhere else felt like it was closed and not allowing people to sit together or inside really. My visiting family and I had a great time then.

Merry Christmas Chris's Pancakes. Please update your website and your phone lines to tell your customers when you will be open and closed accurately. I sincerely hope all of your employees and your families had a great time and have a great year to come. You all certainly deserve far more in life than a...

Local friends encouraged me to try Chris's I was extremely disappointed. My assumption is they have been much better. They are a bit of a local institution it seems and established decades ago. However, little really worked well on their food dragging it below par for myself and son.

The location of the restaurant is situated on a corner with both off street parking and a lot behind them. Be mindful it's one-way traffic flow beside them. The lot was tidy as was the walk up. They offer alfresco dining up front, but we opted for an interior booth.

There was no wait and a friendly male hostess set us up at the table with menus. The interior is sprawling with different sections and a small room that could be utilized for events. The rooms were maintained and clean. This is the best part of the review unfortunately.

A female brought waters to the table and got my coffee order. No communication if this would be our waitress. Later another woman came back with coffee and was prepared to take our order. Very straight forward, no smile.

If you have pancakes in your name in my opinion you should bring it! Friends raved about their experiences just prior to covid that they had the best cakes in Saint Louis. So we both ordered the small stacks which are two large pancakes. We both got scrambled eggs and sausage patties.

Our order arrived around 15 minutes later and visually looked fine. The butter is served in packets which I don't care for, but no deduction either. We were each provided our own syrup container. After preparing the pancake with butter and syrup we both agreed the cakes were dry. The syrup rolled off the cakes which confirmed they were not moist. In general they lacked flavor and no additional syrup helped them. This alone sunk the review below par.

However further damage to the rating was the sausage, it was like a too tough, but somewhat edible. The eggs were tasty, light and fluffy needing no additional seasoning. But the eggs alone could not salvage my composite score. The waitress unfortunately never asked how the meal was. There was no coffee refill.

I would not recommend and I personally will not return. The value for meal if tasty wound have been good with the ticket running $40ish tax & tip. 2.5...

As I said to my family-Holy Moses in a basket! What keeps this place in business? The fact that some people will eat anything! What a series of unfortunate events. The first was me ordering the "takes 25 minutes to prepare" fried chicken. I was concerned that the other 4 people with me would get hot, fresh food. Good concern. We were assured the kitchen staff was professional and knew how to time things. Hahahaha! NOT! Of the assorted foods we collectively ordered, the best items were onion rings, biscuits and gravy and the coffee. One nicety is the carafe of iced water on the table. The dinner salad was adequate, pleasant and very ordinary. Not so much as a cracker with it. My fried chicken was fresh and hot, however an innocent creature gave up its life to be dredged in nothing but unseasoned flour and fried in some godawful cheap, questionable grease. I feel guilty saving it to feed to the dog. For the price, I would have thought they could offer a dinner roll or slice of bread. Everyone else's food was room temp to cold. The eggs were runny and underdone, sausages and bacon cold and flaccid. Who serves Texas Toast with breakfast food? The salsiccia looked like something a St Bernard left on the porch in 100 degree heat for a few days. Dark, hard and disgusting. Hash browns cold and undercooked. Pancakes? Oh, stop it! Totally flavorless, pasty, and stick to your adenoids like a poor dog with a mouthful of peanut butter. You can't swallow it or breathe. Not good advertising for a place with "PANCAKE" in their name. Who in the world is trying to cook there? I really wanted to like this place, but the food is as dismal as the uninspired decor. And you can't escape the ubiquitous TV! Handicap friendly with a few parking slots, a ramp and wheelchair accessible entrance.

I ate breakfast at Chris's Pancakes last weekend with my partner. We were trying to find a great place to go to and we chose this establishment. Luckily my partner called ahead and got us on the wait list because it was very crowded. There were people waiting outside to be seated as well as inside. It must be good we both said. We went inside and checked in. We maybe waited 10 minutes for our table which wasn't long at all considering how many people were standing waiting. We got seated and ordered our meal which didn't take too long to come as well. The inside was very crowded as well therefore I was only able to get pictures of our food. I wanted to be considerate of the patrons. Our Meal here was good and definitely tasted like a home cooked meal. The portions were great and the food filling. The wait staff was nice and polite. This establishment is wheelchair accessible. The parking here was a mad house. The lot they had was very small and shaped strange. Therefore we parked a block away in the residential neighborhood. Our car was fine when we returned. Just keep in mind you may have a similar experience. The neighborhood was hilly so keep this in mind as well. Overall, we had a pleasant experience with no complaints. #Tonetta #couplewithsoul

After reviewing the drink specials I ordered a brown sugar cinnamon latte. I didn’t really taste any brown sugar cinnamon. I really had a hankering for that flavor. I chose the half classic breakfast which includes one egg, two strips of bacon, hash browns or fruit and toast or pancakes. I’m glad I got the half. I ordered my egg scrambled. The egg had liquid on the plate and seemed undercooked. I asked for crispy bacon and it was cooked perfectly and they tasted great. I chose fresh fruit over hash browns and it consisted of cantaloupe and honeydew. The fruit was juicy but lacking in flavor. The restaurant should think about serving other fruit. I chose pancakes over toast and the pancakes were served hot and are very filling. The restaurant is very homey and what you expect from an established restaurant on The Hill. Dainna was my server and she was great. She treated me like I was family that she liked. They have a parking lot and there’s plenty of street parking around the restaurant.
