The cutest little coffee shop in St. Joseph! This eclectic coffee joint is my go to place for coffee and sweet treats when traveling to Saint Joseph to visit my kid at College of Saint Benedict! The staff are fast and courteous and always get the drinks made perfectly! All coffee drinks are made with organic coffee from Muggsy’s Beans. Although my standard non-fat latte is always delicious, my daughter can vouch for the “Turtle Squiggle” - always with whipped cream! The sweets are made in-house and source with local products and all organic! Some of their treats come in options like gluten free as well helping to cater to those who have dietary restrictions. My personal favorite is the Blueberry muffin although their quiches are equally delicious for a lunch or early dinner! There are lots of cozy booths, couple of seats and tables outside on those sunny days, or you can choose to sit at the counter too! I’ve seen that some nights there is live music and there is a small “stage” in the back by the fireplace perfect for a couple of musicians! One of my favorite things is that all of their dishes are served on a one of a kind dish that is made by a local potter, Joel Cherrico. See you next time I...
Read moreI live in the surrounding area and frequent local businesses to support the local community. I believe in small businesses and feel its important to keep them running. The local blend is a fun environment for the St. Joseph community and it is a great spot to stop for coffee. They have always had great customer service. However, on my usual venture, today I stopped in and was displeased with the mask policy. I was told that I had to wear a mask in order to be in the coffee shop. I proceeded to order my drink and then left. I was originally planning on staying awhile to work on my homework and enjoy their coffee. I was told by their staff that they provide masks for their customers and I declined. In my head I was wondering, how does a person sit a coffee shop and drink their coffee with a mask on? What do you expect me to do? Take the mask on and off every time you want to take a sip? I am unimpressed and will not be returning to support this business. Sincerely,...
Read moreOne of my favorite places in the area. They have so many vegetarian options, I never know which to choose. The bread they serve with their soups is always one of my favorite parts of my meal. I usually end up getting the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo with the Phyllis for my sammie and the soup I either get their (always Vegan) chili or a soup of the day if it sounds good. And then you still get a slice of bread or crackers with your soup and a side choice (which I always get the fresh fruit and it is always actually fresh, as advertised!). Their pizzas are great. The goat cheese one yummmmm. Breakfast all day too. They have a daily quiche and ready to go items also. We order them through food dudes a lot from way across town lol it’s honestly, one of my favorite “treachoself” spots and I feel nourished after I eat there. I’ve brought my grandma, little sisters, friends there too, and they are...
