We always like to find a spot that @guyfieri has gone to on @Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives when taking family trips. The Scarato brothers opened their restaurant in 2003 and come from an Italian and Greek parents. The items on their menu are family recipes and is prepared by hand with locally sourced ingredients. We ordered the Toasted Raviolis for an appetizer. These were absolutely delicious. The raviolis were well flavored and fried to perfection. The marinara sauce was a flavor bomb. My wife does not like red sauce and kept wanting more. We were even using the complimentary bread to dip in it. For dinner the kids shared an Alfredo pasta. The Alfredo sauce isn’t your Olive Garden Alfredo, this is what I can only imagine it tastes like in Italy. I ordered the Chicken Marsala which came with a side of your choice and I chose Alfredo. The chicken was a nice sized cutlet and loaded with Marsala sauce. The sauce was well flavored and not heavy at all. My wife had the House Salad and added 4 shrimp to it. The salad is romaine lettuce, red onion, cherry tomatoes, pepperoncini, Kalamata olives, fet, cucumber and served with a creamy Greek dressing. I do not care for salads, but this salad was so good. The Greek dressing tasted like a mix of Ceasar dressing, Italian dressing and honey mustard. I promise, you will get all those flavors and they work together. They have been recognized for this dressing and once you try it, you can tell why. The shrimp were huge and cooked beautifully. I’m not sure what they do to them, but honestly they were one of the best tasting shrimp we ever had. This is a fantastic restaurant. On a Thursday evening, there was a wait. You can tell how popular this place is, and for good reason. I wish that we lived closer so that we could have these great flavors again and again. I've lived in Columbia since 2013, moved here from RolIa Mo. For as long as I could remember I have ALWAYS wanted to dine on The Hill! Yesterday when I was shopping at Schnucks here in Columbia, I was looking for something different in the frozen pizza section, something from a legit restaurant, like Gino's or Imo's etc. After a cpl minutes I noticed ANTHONINOS TAVERNA... when I saw the world's "ON THE HILL". I was thrilled! First off after noticing the label I noticed the packaging!! Vacuum Sealed NOT INSIDE A BOX! I LOVE THIS!! I also found another item from Anthonino's, Toasted Ravioli Kit. PKG included 10 toasted ravioli with a small cup of marinara & 2 pks of Parm.

Toasted Ravioli price: $15.99 Pizza price: $14.29

I felt prices were a bit expensive, but I wanted to try them!! I wish that it was LESS expensive, but technically u get what you pay for!! I know there ARE times that you products are OVERPRICED & QUALITY IS HORRIBLE !!! NOT THIS TIME!!!! ♥️😀

After returning home, I placed our stone in the oven, turned oven on bake 500°, to heat the stone, started unpacking my groceries. After about 45 mOVERPRICEDin the stone was good & hot, I unsealed the pizzas packaging was quite impressed the locks of their Pizza and Ravs!! Both instructions were the same temp. 400°,, of course the ravs bake in less time, I put the pizza in the oven on the stone, turned the temp down to 400° baked it for the allotted time... when time remaining on about 6 minutes left, I placed the ravioli on a rack and let time run out! NOW, MOMENT OF TRUTH!!! ITS TIME TO FINALLY EAT SOMETHING FROM THE HILL!!

I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE!!!!

ANTHONINO'S TAVERNA GREAT JOB!! Pizza: Love the crust was crispy on bottom, still somewhat chewy... not tough or hard to chew... ur sauce is delicious, cheese melted incredibly... My FAVORITE part of ur pizza is the very fine crumbled sausage!!!!! DELICIOUS!! I'M IMPRESSED!! THE TOASTED RAVIOLI: SAME!!!!! The filling to shell ratio... FANTASTIC!! A LOT OF FILLING!! They're like MEAT PILLOWS!!! LOVE the meat in the sauce!! I do think they should be deep fried for abt 3 minutes INSTEAD of baking for 4-6, just to get brown in color!!

My overall OPINION on BOTH of ur products..... 10/10 If I could give u MORE stars I would!! (Maybe except on price!!). I feel better grocery store price for BOTH would be $10 to $12 ea!!!! STILL INCREDIBLE!!!!

NEXT TIME WE'RE IN ST. LOUIS, WE'LL BE STOPPING BY!!

THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL FIRST EXPERIENCE!!!!! ♥️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10 Stars

Writing this review before I forget because this place deserves it!

For what this restaurant sets out to be, it completely delivers and earns a five stars in its category. Honestly, I almost skipped it after reading Reddit comments criticizing food on “The Hill” for not being “authentic Italian.” I'm from Chicago, where there's no shortage of good restaurants, and I often let that kind of chatter sway me.

But here’s the thing: I wasn’t looking for authentic Italian. I wanted homemade, cozy, Italian-American — and Anthonino’s absolutely delivered on every level. Yes, this kind of food has been around for a long time. There’s a reason for that…

The caprese was genuinely one of the best I’ve ever had. The tomatoes were fresh, and the balsamic was delightful. I almost went for my usual favorite, spaghetti and meatballs, but the server recommended the tortellini with vodka sauce, and I’m glad I listened. It was excellent — albeit very rich.

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would, only because the tortellini came out literally three minutes after the caprese — not much of a pause to allow me to enjoy my app. But again, this place isn’t advertising a fine dining experience, and the prices reflect that. Plus, the pasta was homemade, so how can I really complain?

To top it off, I took the tiramisu to go and — OMG — it was so good.

I had three Negronis (don’t judge!), a starter, and a main course — all for around $75. That’s a steal in my opinion. So, if you’re looking for a friendly, low-key vibe with solid, satisfying food, definitely give this place a try.

If I’m ever back in St. Louis, I’ll be back for sure. Thanks for...
