Dined on the patio during the COVID pandemic. I appreciate that this place has a good sized patio and you can enjoy a meal and some wine with in a relatively safe environment. The food was just ok. I struggled to find something interesting on the menu but settled on some toasted ravs (homemade) and a chicken wrap with fries which was decent but nothing special. The service was great, and even though we had a bottle of rose, the quick refills on water while we were in in the sun on the patio were appreciated by the attentive staff.
Until I got my check I’d give the overall experience a 4 star rating. On my check I was surprised to see that the restaurant sneaks in a “Cash Savings” +3.75% charge (not discount) on the total? I think that adding a charge to the published menu price is literally the opposite of what “savings” means. As a consumer I have no problem if management wants to provide cash discounts. The people that pay with cash will probably appreciate this. However, charging +3.75% in addition to the menu price is not in line with customer expectations at a restaurant in the year 2020.
Unfortunately, I left feeling cheated out of $2+. I’d suggest if management wants to recoup their credit card expenses, which can be significant, they do so in the published menu price. There are certainly bigger problems in the world right now, but I’ll patronize the many other fine establishments in the neighborhood that don’t make it a practice of misleading their...
Read moreReservation for 2 and upon arrival promptly seated. Started with a Bourbon Smash for the cocktail and was not happy with this. Server was kind to switch me out for a glass of Pinot Noir and explained that the cocktail was one of those canned mixes. Pass on the canned cocktail. Starters of Brisket Ravioli, which were very tasty and the portion size is ample, enough for 3-4 people. Tried with both sauces, the Goddess and the Marinara...the Marinara wins here. The Baked Potato soup was quite tasty, I rather enjoyed the flavors and the depth of the soup. Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Parmesean Fries for the entree. This fell a bit short for me due to the chicken breast was smaller and thinner than should have been given the size of the bun. It was cooked and seasoned well; not dry. My friend ordered the Salmon dish, which she raved about and cleaned her plate. Dessert... Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake for me, moist and not too dense. Would have been amazing if it had been warmed up a tad to take the chill off. Service was great, very attentive, kind and accommodating. Ample seating and they have a covered patio. We were seated inside the small dining room, which...
Read morePit Stop is amazing!!! I have resided in the city for years and currently live near by. Somehow I didn’t go there in the past.
Today my foodie buddy and I found this gem by searching fish near me. We both had Red Snapper and it was delicious!!! It’s hard to find at restaurants nowadays because it has been replaced with tilapia.🤢
The menu is very appealing and has a variety of foods, but isn’t too large of a menu.
There are a lot of in house made foods, desserts, and marmalades. We started with the cheese board which is one of the best I’ve had in StL, ordered Red Snapper as our entrees, and had to share a very moist (better than my homemade) carrot cake!!!
The service was on point and the staff is very friendly.
My friend and I personally met Chef Carlos and he told us about his amazing food in detail. What a great guy and good conversation.
My friend and I are going back for ribs next week! 😋
I highly recommend Pit Stop!!!
Oh, and they have an amazing patio!
I am adding to this review. My friend and I will become regulars and I added more photos from my third visit in one week. What more can I say?...
