Food - Hamburger was decent - but I asked for it medium rare and it was WELL DONE…. And it’s not as if I asked, unprompted, for a medium rare. My server asked me how I would like it done, and I answered medium rare. Why bother asking if the kitchen won’t deliver? Not a problem I attribute to my server, though. Accompanying chips were way too salty. Burger itself was decent, as I said, but completely lacked structural integrity in a way that was unpleasant to eat. Things were just kind of thrown together (most of the lettuce was outside the bun) in a way that suggested carelessness. A 3/5 burger, maybe?
My mother had some kind of breaded chicken sandwich, which initially arrived very burnt-looking. Besides that, the sandwich looked fine, a nicely breaded and decently constructed sandwich. We asked for a new sandwich (my mom hates burnt food) but the second time it came back, it was lacking 2 ingredients completely.. (prosciutto and buratta) feeling bad, we didn’t send it back again, but we were confused. Plus, while the initial sandwich had a decent looking breaded chicken cutlet, the second piece of chicken looked like a sad microwaved middle school lunch chicken cutlet. I’ll also add that the second sandwich was half the size of the first (which was.. confusing). The piece of chicken was much smaller and sadder looking. The sandwich’s bottom piece of bread was also so incredibly soggy that it bordered on inedible, like wet tissue paper, so my mom ended up taking a few bites of the chicken and called it a day. I guess it was a bad day for the kitchen, and we did feel bad for sending the sandwich back in the first place so.. 1/5 sandwich, averaging out with the burger to bring food to a 2/5.
Service - Various servers/people kept putting their hands on the back of my chair/empty chairs at my table while navigating the restaurant space which was not necessary considering the amount of space between tables. This I found incredibly unpleasant, mostly because it kept distracting me from my conversation and made me feel like my space was being invaded (although not egregiously, just noticeably) throughout the meal. Maybe it’s because they were older and needed to use my chair to help them round corners? Something I found odd is that most of the servers also did not make eye contact/avoided eye contact, not that I really minded, because I also don’t love eye contact - just noticed. At certain points of the meal there would be absolutely no one on the floor, which was also off putting. 2/5
Atmosphere - Lovely big windows are wonderful, and you can tell that the space wants to feel elegant and premium, but it just… doesn’t. Especially combined with the servers/food, I found it difficult to relax completely and enjoy...

Brandy was an ok server; nothing to complain about nor write home. It was pretty straight to the point (order, deliver, check).
We all drink lol...so Chardonnay & Rosé domed the table. I opted for the Grilled Eggplant entree. A lovely tower of perfectly grilled thick sliced eggplant, forest mushrooms, quinoa, sweet red peppers, goat cheese & basil mint oil. It was delicious. My dining companions ordered the Quiche of the day & Ceasar salad. Both were pleased with presentation & taste.
The dining room is spacious, open & offers a wonderful view overlooking Forest Park's Art Hill. Fresh roses, heavy silverware & linen napkins were the place setting. Coat check, hostess stand, covered parking are available for...
