St. Louis Food Exploration | Sauce on the Side

While visiting The Grove last week, I decided to order from Sauce on the Side, one of my favorite spots in the area. This was probably my third or fourth time enjoying their food, and once again, they did not disappoint. Given how consistently busy this location is--a sign of just how popular and well-loved it is-l've learned to place my order ahead of time online. This helps avoid the wait, and the process is always smooth and efficient. When I arrived, there were a few other guests waiting for their orders, but the staff kept things moving. The gentleman at the register greeted me right away with a warm, friendly attitude, and my food was ready exactly on time. The atmosphere at this location is always a highlight. They offer plenty of seating options--whether you're dining solo, with friends, or as part of a larger group--and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. The décor and overall scenery of The Grove neighborhood only add to the experience, making it a great place to stop for a meal. As for the food: absolutely amazing, as it always is. Even though I live about 15 minutes away, my order was still piping hot by the time I sat down to enjoy it at home. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. You can tell this team takes pride in what they serve. Sauce on the Side continues to be one of my go-to spots in St. Louis. Whether I'm craving a calzone, salad, or just something consistently delicious, I know I can count on them. I'll definitely be back again soon!

. Don’t expect to be greeted and seated at this modern fast paced venue. Ordering is done at the counter in a fast food restaurant style and you can pick your seat. The dining area is spacious with multiple rooms the allow for small and large group seating arrangements. Tables are spread out nicely to create a clean, open and semi private feel to the dining experience. It’s doesn’t have a crowded feel considering the downtown store front location. The menu is simple, offering salads and calzones - even dessert is calzones! This place has nailed the business model of do one thing and do it well! The crust is a pillowy dough that is kin to soft garlic knots. It’s good in its own as a delightful bread. One of the surprising things about these delightful pizza pillows was the perfect balance of filling moisture that didn’t ruin the crust. Many times the calzones I’ve ordered have been unable to handle all the filling creating a wet and soggy bottom crust. This crust was sturdy and yet soft and pillowy Meet me in St Louie was filled pepperoni, sausage and an amazingly rich/creamy cheese blend unlike any other calzone and by far my favorite! The hot mother clucker was stuffed with shredded buffalo chicken and a special blend to complement the buffalo seasoning - this was a great take on buffalo chicken. The kid-zone was filled with its own special cheese blend, that is different from the others we sampled. . We will return and def order Meet Me in St Louie again!

First time but sure not the last time. A work group met up at your Manchester location and the food was great. The service was great and the staff was amazing. Did you know that they have Jamison on tap? Who knew! Well after looking at their selection of mixers or something that would accompany my adult drink I decided the Root beer would be a nice mix. Most of the people at my table tried it and agreed it was smooth. The root beer finish with the just a little of the Jamison coming through was perfect. Anyhow that's not why they got 5 stars.

Ever left your phone somewhere never to get it back? 10 minutes after leaving and realizing I left it right on the table my wife called it to make sure it wasn't in the car. One of the amazing staff members answered and told me they had found my phone. You know that feeling where you go from complete OMG I just lost all my family photos and a big technology part of your life. Well that feeling went away and I returned to recover this very phone I'm using to write this.

I would like to personally thank the entire staff for their honesty dedication to the job and great service. Victor, James and Jessica are the reason my family will be returning to your establishment. Thank you again for everything. Keep being...
