Our group of four recently attended the Hands-On Workshop at Intoxicology, and it was an incredible experience! While it was a bit challenging to book a class due to high demand, it was absolutely worth the wait. The workshop is led by Andy and Melissa, the passionate and knowledgeable owners of Intoxicology. Their enthusiasm for crafting cocktails is infectious, and they did an amazing job of sharing their expertise with us. During the class, we learned to make three types of cocktails: one shaken, one stirred, and one with egg white. Each drink was full-sized, so their advice to eat beforehand was spot on! The class lasted about 2.5 hours, and we left with a much deeper appreciation for what goes into a truly great cocktail. It was fascinating to see how small details make such a big difference between an average drink and an exceptional one. We 100% recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys cocktails or wants to try something fun and educational. It’s a unique outing that’s perfect for a group or even as a special date night. We can’t wait to go back!

The real benefit of this store isn't the amazing selection of whiskeys, spirits, and vast selections of bitters, vermouths, and bar gadgets. The real benefit is the knowledge the two owners bring to every customer experience. Want to learn the difference between burbon and rye? Ask the owners. Want to know the difference in bitters? Ask the owners. What to know what ingredience goes into classic cocktails? ASK THE OWNERS! Intoxicology offers a unique learning experience while providing a great selection that allows you too feel more confident when making a drink for your next guests. Yes, I could go to schnucks to buy Angostura bitters, but I won't get the knowledge and expertise the owners bring to the table. Check out the pictures of my first legit Manhattan. Boom! And Done.

I cannot recommend Intoxicology enough! We were lucky enough to participate in their cocktail class, and we were absolutely blown away! Instruction was easy to follow without being "dumbed down". The entire experience was top-notch, and any cocktail drinker would enjoy the class regardless of how much or how little mixing experience they have. Of course, all of that is in addition to their amazing selection of alcohol and bar supplies which is second to none! A+ experience all around!

This shop is simply the best. I don't even write reviews, really. I felt compelled because my girlfriend and I, since March, have been quarantined here (because of health issues) and we've been here countless times to try new kinds of liquor and purchase interesting mixers. I'm from NYC and hadn't been to St. Louis... I had no idea what to expect, but wow: the owner of Intoxicology has such knowledge of spirits, has recommended me so many awesome Mezcals, and offered such comprehensive (and accessible!) thoughts on liquor that I not only keep leaving with more mezcal and tequila, but I also keep leaving knowing a little bit more about how it's made and why it tastes a certain way.

PS: They are REALLY great about taking the pandemic seriously: mandatory masks, mandatory hand sanitizer upon entry, the owner is always wiping down surfaces and bottles when we come in, and there's always an awesome record spinning on the turntable! When (If?) I return to NYC, I will miss this place so much... It reminds me of home in the best way possible. Good vibes. Great drinks. Great customer service. Knowledgeable ownership. Can't recommend...

Amazing store which contains everything you need for your bar to include bar utensils, glasses, books about cocktails, and of course wine, liquors and specialty items such as a wide selection of bitters, syrups, and mixers. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Unlike a box liquor store or your typical large liquor store, Intoxicology had smaller selections, but everything was of high quality. The wine and spirits were very nicely displayed and the prices were exceptionally reasonable. This store seemed to be all about “demystifying” cocktails and everything seemed “high class!” There was also a bar within the store! If you are looking for a classy gift, there were boxes which included all of the ingredients needed to make a specific cocktail. The nicest liquor store I have visited in my 50+ years of life which includes living in multiple States within the...
