Good Company is almost perfect- which can be pretty hard to find these days. With so many establishments raising prices and lowering quality/ quantity, Good Company stands tall in its ability to deliver.
The food itself is rather remarkable. The quality and freshness can be tasted, no matter what you order. Menu items offer a bit of comfort but also show a creative nod as well. We split the deviled eggs, cauliflower, and full beet salad. My partner got the Good Burger (name not lost on me) and I got the Mushroom entree. The portions were spot on for the price point. Everything was presented well and tasted even better!
My only critique on the deviled eggs, as a southerner, is it needs a little crunch in the filling (bread and butter pickles preferred but some do celery). The chili crisp topping offered that a little but I can see some asking for the dish without it.
The drinks were equally as divine. The menu again had some comfort with a nice creative twist as well as some really unique options. You can tell every ingredient is thoughtfully chosen and curated per drink. I really appreciate the NA section as well (we chose libations this trip). The staff was not snuffy about pushing more drinks nor did they pressure to partake in drinking alcohol whatsoever. That was really comforting as STL is sort of having a NA awakening and bringing normality to enjoying life without being sloshed.
Overall pros and cons list~
CONS: •Most tables are high tops and this makes it inaccessible for a good portion of people. •There are no hooks to put a purse, backpack, fanny pack, jacket, etc… •The high top chairs are really uncomfortable (could easily be fixed with a simple cushion) •The wall next to our table was splattered with food. •It was really hot in the front of the restaurant. We sat next to an air vent and nothing was coming out. •The overall atmosphere was a bit forgettable. •There isn’t much room to stand if you’re waiting on a table. We saw a group of guests swarm the host stand and block the only path from the front to the back of the building.
PROS: •There was walk-in seating available at 6:30pm on Friday. •The staff is super kind and knows the menu well. •The food and drinks are top notch. •There is a back patio. •There is a small free parking lot along the east side of the building and other spots nearby. •Losts of vegetarian options. •Food menu items can easily be shared. •Metal straws in the drinks 🙌
There is no dress code here either. Which can be good or ewww, depending on your perspective. 🙃
Good Company is a welcomed addition to the STL food scene and fills a void thats existed for some time now. We look forward to coming back and seeing how they...
Read moreThis place is something really magical. I’ve been here countless times. Tbh - I’m lowkey an OG bc I accidentally went there for their soft open. I live next door, so it’s hard not to frequent.
Good Company is a stl gem. Shiny, scintillating, and true to its name. It’s truly GOOD COMPANY. I have been blessed to have been served by Amber, Ravenna, and Danny, and had drinks made by Maddie, Jiana, Helen, and Cesar. I’m not kidding, they never miss. Jiana made a spin on an old fashioned that I will never forget, Maddie and Helen rocked me & my man’s world with their daiquiris.. like who knew a simple drink could be so unforgettable. Cesar has such a magnetic spirit and excellent wine recommendations. Amber and Danny stole my father and I’s heart with their charisma and magnanimity. Ravenna’s energetic field is so pink and bright, it’s like a sun-ray shining in your cornea. The people behind this bar and in boh are so indescribably lovely and delightful, I cannot imagine an experience without one of the names I dropped.
Obviously you need to try the Mole and Good Burger. They rock my world. Incredible dishes, paired with parm fries it’s chef’s kiss 💋. The apps are phenomenal, the roasted cauliflower, feta tart, anything is a delight. All the desserts absolutely smash. My favorites include the sorbet, key lime pie, and chocolate chip cookie 🍪.
The vibes inside are absolutely immaculate - so chill and delightful. I’ve brought my dog here, and out of nowhere Amber brought him a big bowl of water. I once wanted to be exciting and try an orange wine, I did not have the pallet for it. Instead of charging me for my half finished glass, my server directed me to a drink that was more suited to my taste and took the orange wine off my check !! Like what?! Every person here has the unique ability to cater to needs you don’t know you have.
Any time my dad is in town, this place is a MUST for him. As someone who lives walking distance, it’s debilitating to my wallet, and worth every single penny. I cannot wait to try the brunch, and love every bite.
From the atmosphere, to the luxury ingredients and high quality food and drink, Good Company is more deserving of a place in STL’s greatest spots !! The vibe is immaculate, the food is incredible, and the staff is comparable to the lineup of Greek Gods. Truly an unforgettable experience you will continue to crave and come back to. LOVE the way they change their menu seasonally but still keep all the classic faves. Plus, walking distance from the best bars in town! Please visit if you’re in the city!!
PS. love how accommodating they are for gluten free 🥹 a separate fryer and everything!!...
Read moreAfter eagerly securing the last available table at this much-talked-about establishment, I found myself experiencing the subtle art of unmet expectations.
The Bright Spots: The staff's genuine warmth and attentiveness was a highlight The thoughtful touch of a welcome drink set a promising tone Their cocktail menu showed creative ambition The cauliflower dish was genuinely excellent
Where Things Faltered: The recommended La Guapa cocktail (their spicy margarita) delivered exactly what you'd expect from any neighborhood bar—nothing more, nothing less My adventurous choice of the City Bird cocktail unfortunately transported me to the candle section of a home goods store rather than tropical paradise. While the staff kindly provided lime as requested when I mentioned the issue, the absence of any meaningful response to feedback spoke volumes The burger experience came with an unexpected plot twist: when asked if we wanted fries or onion rings "with" our burger, we discovered later this meant "$12 for six under-seasoned onion rings." Despite their impressive two-day preparation process, even the most dedicated onion ring enthusiast might question both the value and the clarity of communication
Perhaps my expectations were simply misaligned with reality, but this experience has encouraged me to explore other dining options in the future. While I appreciate their evident effort, the combination of underwhelming drinks and surprise additions to our bill left an impression that lingered longer than the taste of their...
