Southside Barber & Beauty Sln — Local services in St. Louis

I walked into the shop today, for the first time, thinking I'd get a haircut. I asked the barber (the big guy) how much it would cost and he told me $25. Maybe it was because he thought I didn't know any better, so I said, "That's a lil' higher than I thought, so I'll pass. Thanks anyway." Later in the day, a friend of mine needed a cut, too, so I told him to call over to Southside to see how much they'd say. I don't know if it was the same person who told me $25, but my friend told me he was told $20. I guess the big guy figured he'd throw out a number to see if I'd bite. I didn't. Not cool, big guy, whether I was a first-timer or not. I just wanted to get my cut tightened up a little bit as I keep it low. So, it wasn't like I had a cut like that character in the movie Hollywood Shuffle with the busted curl. lol I guess I won't be returning...

I'm not a woman that likes to frequent any Barbershop .However, I happened to ride past Southside Barbershop on my home from work one evening and my sister and I decided to stop. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd chair Barbers all spoke upon us entering the shop. I ended up getting my hair cut by Brandon. He was gentle and actually did a consultation with me before preceding to cut my hair. The atmosphere was nice, welcoming, and they were very personable. Today was my second visit and we got the same "Welcome " as the first time. The barbers are respectful and great at what they do. I am likely to make Brandon my permanent barber as long as I keep my hair short. So ladies if you want a comfortable Barbershop to go to, Southside Barbershop is a great place. The shop atmosphere is welcoming. With a million and one things on my to-do-list we always come in as a walk in, sit in the next available sit, most of the time there's no wait time Tues. - Thru (if it is no more then 10min). We are never disappointed in the Barber's professional work. Lining ALWAYS crispy and just right! We used 3 of their barber's so far and we diffently will sit in any chair there.
