The food was yummy and the prices were great. However, it was probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a while. We left feeling unwelcome and intrusive. The staff seemed disinterested and slightly annoyed at us being there. The way brunch was supposed to be served was an interesting concept, but the process either wasn't explained well, executed correctly, or was entirely too complex for what was needed. From what we were told about the ordering process it seemed like food was carted around the dinning room and you would choose what you want from the cart and keep track of how much you got via tally marks on a menu, but we more or less checked of items on the menu for them to be brought to us. The waitress seemed new, but it didn't really make up for the awkward, non-caring vibe that we got. Instructions were barked to us. Examples, instead of asking us if we had any questions or if we were ready to order she said "tell me when your ready" as she walked away from us, or when she arrived with our food, very aggressively told us to give her our plates. We were hoping to talk to the owner/manager there, as she was talking to other customers, but she left the dinning room as soon as she was done talking to them. We felt dismissed and ignored. We hope we just caught them at a bad time, and may go back given the food quality and prices. We also appreciate that they are part of stl's green dinning and are supporters of...
Read moreUrban Eats Food Hall! What a spot with a great story! This spot proves the commitment to urban revitalization! It’s got a long story since 2005! It’s been through the 2008 recession and it’s been through Covid!
It all started with the purchase of the Liermann building in 2005. The goal was to create a thriving business and uplift the surrounding community through initiatives like the Downtown Dutchtown Business Association.
From 2008 to 2020, this spot functioned as a café, opening other restaurants around the community and then quickly pivoting to a shared kitchen and marketplace in 2020 due to Covid. Today, it’s a spot for local entrepreneurs and independent food businesses to get their start with proper resources! There are several restaurants in this shared space. I personally like going to every restaurant and just getting a taste of each.
It’s a wonderful place to support. There’s something...
Read moreI tried this place for the first time yesterday at the recommendation of friends. The concept of the brunch was interesting with carts bringing small plates tot he tables at low prices per plate. But the menu was misleading. We arrived about a half hour after opening and they were already out of a good portion of the items listed on the menu that should have been coming around. This meant that the sampling that I wanted from the menu was unavailable. The cart service was also quite slow. It took about an hour and a half to eat and we left hungry because our group had another...
