Update: I just visited Best burger again after a 6-year hiatus due to not being in the area. It tastes exactly how I remembered it 6 years ago. They have yet to skimp on quality and it is still an amazing value. Definitely the best burger around.
I've heard about Best Burger from friends. I never found the time to stop by until today. I regret not stopping by sooner. I was greeted by the owner upon entering. He explained their burgers to me. He was one of the most friendly restaurant owners I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Now on to the burgers. I ordered a single and double meat burger with fries. Their patties are flame-broiled 100% beef that is ground on site. The flame broiled flavor was the perfect touch to the well topped burger. The buns were exquisitely toasted. The tomatoes were sliced thin. The burger was completely balanced from top to bottom. I'm very particular about burger restaurants, since I am a chef and a huge foodie. The owner is a foodie as well, and it shows in the quality of their food.
I'm not a fan of crinkle cut fries, but Best Burger is the exception. Keep in mind that I placed this order to-go. I drove home (10 minutes drive), got comfortable and unpacked the bag of food. The crinkle cut fries were still hot and CRISP! That alone is worth 5 stars.
If you are in the mood for a 5 star burger at a great price, this should be the only stop you should have in mind. The prices are so competitive, they literally drove every fast food burger restaurant around them out of business. I...
Read morethe fries were great! the corn dog not so great... the burger was okay: it was somewhat tasty, but just as tasty as any other non-chain fast food burger joint--nothing really special. it was however, really skimpy for "best burger" one slice of tomato, a couple of pickles and piece of lettuce. the patty was thin and overall the burger seemed pretty thin and less than filling (which is why i ordered the corn dog afterwards).
i might eat there again, if i was in the area--around lunch time, not in the evening. there was a guy standing outside the door for no apparent reason (initially i thought it was the local bum, but he didn't ask for anything just pretty much stared me down as i was walking in). and there were the usual suspects hanging out in the corner by the restroom peeping everyone out. i'm sure it's a working class establishment, which is cool, but still felt i had to keep my guard up the whole time i was there..
i will say that the service was real good! the guy that took the order was cordial, the lady that handed the burger was nice. the guy with the texans tattoo on his face seemed customer friendly!
overall, i'd say not "the best burger", but better than mickeyds or crapindabox. on par with any other mom&pop/chinesefood...
Read moreBefore I start I want to say that I can only be mad at myself for wasting my money......I pass by this place at least 2 times a week and I always say that I want to stop and try them...so upon me getting out the car I see one of the employees and I asked him " Are these burgers good" he said " There nothing special, have you ever had burger king?" And I immediately laughed and said awww man I don't like BK like that but I never thought in a million years that someone would try and duplicate BK's Burger..so I decided to still try it ...went up and paid for the 1/4 burger, fries and 20 oz drink it came up to about 9 something.....which I thought was too expensive for a hood restaurant...didn't take long for them to call my order ..got the burger and I bit into it and I immediately said.... that employee knew exactly what he was talking about..... omg....it had the same grill lines as BK and the patty was not well done...and I don't even think it was real meat....the patty was too perfectly rounded and thin....like it came from a box...I was so upset but it was a lesson learned.... This is NOT the BEST burger at all.....first and...
