China Wok — Restaurant in Stanton

I've been wanting some Chinese food for awhile now, but problem is I live in beattyvill and this is the closest one I've found, so I took my mom there. The service was.. ok, for starters a waiter came and took us to our table, asked for our drinks then left to the back, another waiter came and gave us our drinks but had spilled it all on the side so we had to clean it up. Next we waited for a menu because I'd noticed the buffet was quite bare, for at least 5 minutes no one gave us a menu then said we had to get the buffet, so our selection was slim to say the least. For two lunch buffets and two drinks, it came to 17 dollars, really good price to be honest. But the food was edible, I got some lo mein and it was stone cold, the broccoli and beef was alright but the broccoli was really hard, like it was just plopped in there after they cooked the beef, the sweet and sour chicken was doughy in the middle and the sweet and sour sause tasted like pure sugar. We were one of 2 tables in the restaurant, the only one for about 25 minutes. Never once offered a refill on our drinks even when they was completely empty. Then when second table was set the guy walked past us looking at our empty glasses and offered the other table refills on their half empty glasses. Customer service was garbage. Then when we left we stopped at Kroger accross the street for gas and seen the guy digging through the dumpster for a cardboard box and carried it inside. That is extremely unsanitary, let alone pulling the box out of the trash and carrying it inside, he never had any gloves on or any kind of protectio. We will...

This has to be the freshest Chinese food I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’m doing a ranger internship in the Red River Gorge from March-November, and I have to say- it is extremely difficult to resist the urge to come here after each strenuous day of hiking 8-10 miles. The prices are great- 6.50 (after tax) for lunch, 8.50 (after tax) for dinner. The switch is at 3:30. A really friendly family owns the buffet- mom, dad, brother, sister; and they are the most sincere group of people. They do all that they can to maintain the quality and the quantity of the food.
