Today is my birthday! I decided to treat myself to lunch. I walked into Captain D’s expecting the usual friendly greeting, “Welcome to Captain D’s”. But, I just got a look and then the cashier said under her voice, May I help you? I assumed I disturbed her from stirring a batch of tea! Well, I’ll cut through the chase- and I asked for coupons and if they had any birthday offers. No offers! From the look on her face, I said, I see this isn’t going to go well. She took my order. Now, the cook is preparing my food. The food is now ready. The cashier took my food from the kitchen window and slammed it on the counter one box after another. She didn’t even show me what I had ordered like the other Captain D’s workers do. I spranged from my seat and asked her, Did you just slammed my food down? I told her that she wasn’t friendly, it don’t hurt anyone to be kind, and I was going to give her a “good review” (naturally, I didn’t really mean that the review would be actually good!) All in all, the food was delicious, but some workers have nasty attitudes. I was the first customer of the day! She has her entire shift to work and she’s already in a bad mood!!! I get so tired of workers acting like it’s the customers fault that they have to work!!! I was a professional and yet I had to take on extra domestic jobs to make ends meet.    Read moreIn the area of MS where I live, I typically end up frustrated/angry/disappointed with my experience of dealing with inept and/or rude employees at fast food restaurants. My experience with this Captain D's location, and the staff present at the time of my visit, was a refreshingly rare exception. I had made a mistake when I placed my initial order at the drive-thru, and explained at the window to Phoenecia (who appeared to be the manager) that I'd intended to order the family-size meal, as opposed to the individual-size. Tho I offered to take what I'd inadvertently ordered, in addition to the family meal, she graciously said with a smile that it was no problem, she'd cancel the first order and put in the "Seafood Feast". All of this was done with genuine good nature and skillful customer service. Considering this level of pleasant interaction/transaction, I will definitely take more of my future, fast-food business to this Captain...
   Read moreFood has always been pretty good, however tonight my wife and I drove 55 miles from Kosciusko like we often do. As we sat and enjoyed our food a roach crawled from under table onto table top (next to my wife’s food), we ask for another piece of fish and moved to another table. The manager was told but never would come out from kitchen. As we sat and ate we started noticing the busted siding under tables for easy access for bugs. Needless to say our 2 trips a month to Captain D’s will not happen until repairs are made. Prices at restaurant are high enough surely you can afford to keep dining room in excellent condition. Need a bug man to.... this trip occurred...
