Was told it would take 4 days to install took 15+ and multiple times being told someone would come install next day but never would. Store associate told me I would be getting the 300mbs fiber. Only 12mbs basic was available in my area. I called complaining as I would have never agreed to paying the same price for 12mbs basic rather than 300mbs fiber. The in store associate pretty much called me a liar saying he told me I was only getting 12mbs??? Yeah sure I’d definitely ask to pay for $55.38 for 288 megabytes less than what I originally was told I’d get. You’re lucky if you can run a toaster oven off of that. I use internet for schoolwork gaming and much more I would be stupid to ask for that? It doesn’t even make sense. Now after canceling I’m continuously being charged after being told and would and having credit so I wouldn’t be. Yet so how my card is being charged and anytime I call to ask why. I’m told “call customer service” because all they know how to do in store is sign you up for a service that isn’t even available in your area. I decided to go to my local MaxSouth wifi was installed next day and my service is running higher megabytes than what I’m actually supposed to be getting. If you want good wifi in Starkville within city limits Maxsouth is the way to go outside of city limits go for Fastnet by 4County. Not a single business or household I know uses ATNT anymore because they are unreliable slow internet company. Atleast the one in Starkville is. Not to mention when I did have them at my old apartment the only way I could get close to having the internet speed I was promised was using a Ethernet cable connection which was still 100 megabytes slower. To fix this issue the local store associates do nothing remember guys “call customer service” and sit on hold for at least 20 minutes just to be told to restart your router and when that doesn’t change anything. As most of the time it doesn’t you get them telling you to pay another $10 a month to upgrade your service. Whenever you decide that’s your only choice and do it you’ll be getting what you organically paid for service speed just $10 extra. Anyways moral of the story MaxSouth is the best internet provider for Starkville in city limits while Fastnet is best outside of city limits choose them! I will never go back to Atnt even if they are the only providers in my area my hotspot on my phone would honestly...
Read moreThis may be related to the mismanagement of AT&T, not the local store, but...I've been trying to get internet installed in my new house for the past 4 months and still don't have internet. I understand this is a new construction thing, but I did get different messages from different personnel from this local store every time I stopped by. For example, in Dec 2021 it was told that internet will be ready for the new building in 2 weeks; I visited again in 2022 and was told to register my address on their website (but I was unable to). After months of wait, I was finally informed by our HOA that I may order fiber AT&T now. Placed an order online, and received another call saying that there will be some delay due to "facility issues," and in the same afternoon received a second call saying that they WERE coming to hook it up (which turned out to be a spam call trying to sell me ADT security?? But the problem is, did AT&T leak my order information??). I tried to do online chat and a customer representative said "rest assured, I've placed high priority and a technician will arrive to install the internet." As expected, no one showed up today. Can't AT&T just ensure better communication within their own units so that they would at least not give us mixed information and let down the customers again and again? I don't mind months of wait but...this??? Feel my frustration.
Update: AT&T rescheduled my installation from early April to April 20th, and on April 19th they called again to say there will be delay and didn't even provide me with a "rescheduled to" date. The guy who called me couldn't explain why and just gave me a...
Read moreCompared to Metrocast, AT&T is the better internet provider. I am not sure about cable because I only pay for internet. Customer Service in-store is good, but over the phone is a joke. My husband and I have been overcharged each month since we have had internet service with AT&T (and by overcharged, I mean by at least $100). My advice to you is whenever you connect service to: A) have the modem shipped to the store, not your house or apartment. We have had a lot of trouble with them because of this issue. We were sent three modems and charged $300 when we should have only been charged $100 for ONE modem. We had to pay for all of them and send them back. We were told that the extra $200 would be credited back to our account. We sent them back 2 months ago and we have called several times and they state that they have not received them, so we are out $200!! B) install it yourself; it is very easy and C) take any problems you have to the store, because if you try to handle it over the phone it will never get done. We have finally had the charges dropped to the rates that they are supposed to be at. *Be sure to know before you sign up for their $35/month internet "deal," that you are paying $35 + $10 (installment fee/month) + $5 worth of taxes/extra charges. So you are actually paying $50 per month. * Hope this...
