Let me start by saying I am usually not one to complain or especially take the time to write a bad review, but I was particularly upset with the service and the reaction to the bad service that I received. Three of the adults ordered the exact same thing, grilled chicken strips and sweet potato fries and some pasta for the 2 year old. If you have ever eaten with a 2 year old you know you have a finite window of time in which they will sit in a high chair and behave. It took 40 minutes from when we ordered to be told that they were out of sweet potato fries. Not to mention the disappointment of not having the item that prompted us to come to Mugshots in the first place, but now we have to choose something else we didn’t want and wait longer. Well, about 15 minutes later, (the amount of time it should have taken to get our food in the first place) we got our meal. I have no complaint about the food quality, other than it was not what I wanted. When we got the bill, I noticed that there was an upcharge for sweet potato fries on the ticket which is normal, had we received sweet potato fries. My thought was even if there was an upcharge for my side which I had to choose on the spur of the moment, it should be waived since they did not have the side I wanted and I was not informed this until 40 minutes after I ordered. When I asked about this, the response was that they did not charge me more even though the new sides we choose was more than the sweet potato fries. Well thank you so much for not charging me more for something I did not want to order in the first place. I paid my ticket and asked the hostess to see a manager before I left. She went to get them and returned saying that they were a little too busy to talk to me right now. Really! She said could she help. I told her the problem and she said she would tell him about it. Well I am sure that will do a heck of a lot of good and I hope they understand that I will be a little too busy to ever eat at...
Read moreI don’t write many reviews, and the only ones have are good. But this was the weirdest restaurant experience I’ve ever had. We waited around 25 minutes after being sat to have a server come to us. That was okay and didn’t really bother me because sometimes a section gets sat without the server knowing. But it wasn’t busy. Our waitress was very nice at first, but it took a while for even drinks. When my drink was refilled, it took so long that someone had to get up and ask about it. When the drink was brought back, it didn’t have a straw and I wasn’t handed one so when we were asked if we needed anything I asked, “Can I have a straw please?” in a nice tone. Our waitress stared at me for a moment and just blinked at me before giving me one. It struck all of us as weird because it was like an annoyed look/blink with a hollow smile and was a clear indication of her being upset. We literally all looked at each other confused. I don’t really know how to describe it other than weird. I had asked nicely and have never gotten a reception like that for simply asking for a straw. Other than when we were first checked on after 25 mins, our drinks, food came out, and check we were never checked on. We wanted knives to cut our burgers but didn’t want to hunt down the waitress to ask for one. I would’ve understood more if it was busy but it wasn’t. Maybe the restaurant was understaffed. What really struck me was the straw incident. I just don’t understand why you would be mad at someone for asking for a straw? Or show that you’re mad? It wasn’t like we were asking for a bunch of things because we could barely get her to our table. I asked for one refill and that required a 10+ minute wait and having to get up and ask about my drink in a nice tone. Unless it’s takeout, we probably won’t eat here again after that. The food was good, but the...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place, as the reviews are great and I was excited with anticipation for trying the food here. Let me start by saying I love burgers and bar foods in general. I'll leave the food review for the end, so I can get through all the positives first.
Staff were friendly and responsive. Server was quick to take and place orders. All food came out quickly and was perfectly hot.
I came with my girlfriend who is vegetarian, as I had heard good things about the Vegetarian Burger in their menu. Went to order and they weren't sure but didn't they had anymore. Sounds like they ran out awhile ago and never replenished. But there's nothing else for her to eat now, except a kids grilled cheese. I mean they could have at least attempted to my an adult grilled cheese, as they have multiple cheeses on their menu.
I ordered the Texan Burger. Beef patty came out overcooked, dry, and grey. I did really enjoy the Char on the outside of the burger though. The "Crispy Onion Strings" and "Crispy Fried Jalepenps" were far from Crispy. They were soggy and soft with no crisp, like it would be if it was fried yesterday and then microwaved to reheat. Plus, red onion for a battered Crispy Onion String is just odd to me and not appealing, as yellow onions are typically used for onion rings. Both of us did enjoy the battered French fries...those were delicious.
We also got the Fried Cheese Wedges half mozzarella and half pepper jack. These were perfectly fried, Crispy, and bubbly hot. I have zero complaints here as they tasted amazing and easily better than either of our 2 entrées.
Overall, I was very disappointed in the food quality and lack of availability of menu items. I am an out of towner and will be in town for another 2 days. I will likely decide to stick with Bulldog Burger instead as food was all perfect when we went...
