"The Bin has been a staple in the cotton district for a while now. It's a great place to go when the weather is nice and you can sit outside. The food is nothing special but it is definitely above average. I think as a resturant/bar it is slightly overpriced compared to some other Starkville bar/restaurants but you won't be disappointed with what you order. Overall the experiences I've had at the Bin have been positive and I recommend you try it for yourself. One tip, don't order the pizza. I've had it multiple times and it's typically burnt to a crisp. The burger is great though."
" Update 4/13/19: After their refusal of providing shelter during the recent tornado, I no longer recommend supporting the Bin. I've updated my review to reflect this. If you're in the cotton district, Two Brothers, Commodore Bob's, Bulldog Burger, and Stagger Inn are all great alternatives."
Update 4/16/19: After seeing the statement from the establishment, I'm restoring my review to its original rating. My hope is that the Bin learned from this and will implement the practices highlighted in their statement to better suit future customers. Please refer to my...
Read moreFood isn't anything to write home about. Even the cheese fries only taste half way decent after a few beers. Regardless, this review isn't really about their food.
In light of the recent events, I understand that they could have had an over crowding problem. Especially in a severe storm, assume the building had been hit and their had been 100 people in the building, there would probably have been a lot of casualties. That's a lot of liability for an establishment to take on.
So yeah, I understand why they may have wanted to shut down business early. However, if their staff and the company they contract with to provide security act the way they did on the video and in other reports, that means they probably have a bigger management issue. I don't want to see the business fail, and calling for their heads is probably not the greatest thing to do. However, I hope that the Bin works towards restoring faith in them from the community and I hope that they maybe reevaluate their employees and whom they hire.
But yeah mediocre to subpar food. And...
Read moreMy family and I ate here after touring the MSU campus. I got the spin dip with the chips. After asking the waitress twice to make sure the chips were made from wheat flour and her confirming that, I ate a few. Because I have a corn allergy and they tasted like corn, I asked her to triple check. She came back about 5 minutes later with another waitress to tell me they were, in fact, corn chips. According to her, the restaurant changed them recently. Both waitresses were very apologetic and offered to refund my dip cost. They also brought me pita bread instead. Thankfully I did not have a reaction and took Benadryl afterwards. I do think the manager should have come out to check on us, and I do think they should have given us our meal for free, not just the dip. So the food was decent, but the management was a...
