We were excited to try this place, but unfortunately didn’t like it as much as we’d hope. To start, the service wasn’t great. It wasn’t terrible, but not good. We were seated and our server brought drinks and took our appetizer menu, but then after that waited about 10 minutes to come back and take our food order—even though we had 4 young children and were clearly ready. He was just sitting there taking to other workers anyway, so it wasn’t a “he was busy” issue. The appetizer was delivered, but no utensils. Fine—we ate it with our hands. And wiped our greasy fingers on the napkins. After what felt like quite a while, especially with it being slow at the restaurant at the time, our food came. And then I had to ask for utensils, because they still never came. We also wanted to ask for some ketchup, but didn’t see our server again until it was time to pay. We were checked on after a while by the floor manager (or something), so we did eventually get ketchup. It was odd though—I watched as the floor manager walked around and chatted with workers, then picked up a toothpick for patrons and put it in his mouth. I assume he never washed his hands between that and bringing us ketchup. Either way, not a professional way to act.
The food. Some of the food was good—the sweet potato fries with caramel were good, definitely a unique combo that I hadn’t tried before. The fries were well salted, which I really appreciated. Cookies and cream shake was pretty good. The Philly Spring Rolls were okay too, though I wished for more flavor and they were definitely messy without silverware. The tots were nothing to write home about. Just tots. The Mac and cheese with pork belly was pretty good, as were the chicken bacon ranch sliders—but unfortunately, those yummier foods were what we ordered for our children, not us. The burgers were sadly dry and lacking in flavor. I ordered the Bryant and my husband ordered the Jalapeño Popper burger. Mine was less dry, but still not great. That was a total bummer since it was a burger restaurant.

Read moreBulldog burger is my first choice for burgers in Starkville. Not only they taste great, but also there is a huge variety of different burgers and customization available. As some one whose first choice for dining out is getting a burger, the Bulldog burger is an important place to me. I also do not dine out as often, so it is very important to me to eat quality when I dine out. My previous experiences with the Bulldog burger have always been positive, until tonight. I ordered a curbside pick-up, arrived on time and sat in my car for 15+ minutes before I made a second call to follow up. Then I was told not to worry, my order was ready the whole time, they just forgot to bring it out. Mistakes happen, I understand, but it I wanted to make a decision based on the burger I ate tonight, I would never set my foot in the Bulldog burger again. Everything was cold, and due to resting for more than usual, there were many water drops inside the boxes. It sure did not taste like a quality burger. Just to be clear, it was not my first curbside pick-up order from the Bulldog burger, and I never tip less than 20% even for the pick-up orders. I also made my first phone call as soon as I parked my car in the pick-up spot, and if you are wondering, no one apologized for the delay. I am a bit disappointed, I need to think if I can trust Bulldog burger again or not. I may update this review later based on what...
Read moreIn town to root on our favorite team and stopped in Bulldog Burger to power up before the game. This team from hostess to kitchen to wait staff to bartenders - were all working so very hard to make everyone’s visit go smoothly. We were able to check in prior to our visit on yelp but as one would expect in a game day the estimated time was off some especially since it was super cold and the patio wasn’t really an option. We started with fried pickles which were quite tasty but we had all wished they were a bit crispier. TBH though didn’t stop us from clearing out the basket. Next we moved onto wings. They were spicy and sweet (a bit of an Asian flare) and were some of the best wings we’ve had in a while. Josh and I went with the Good Morning burger because why not pile on a whole plate of breakfast on top of your burger 🍔 all the goods in one meal. And guys of you need a side recommendation then add in the truffle tots with a side of fondue…that’s right fondue. You can thank us later. Our son went with the Nashville Hot Chicken; which he polished off but stated it wasn’t as flavorful as he expected. And ladies - not sure if it was because it was game day but the mens restroom kept a line the entire time we were there while the ladies walked on in…the universe felt upside down with that. Overall a great experience and would definitely...
