We ate at this restaurant. Is it all fake glitz and glitter? No. Is it a place for food snobs? No. But, as one who has eaten chorizo and chicharrones and tostados in the Southwestern USA, all over Mexico, much of Central America and several countries of South America, I will say that the only places I have had better chorizo and chicarrones were in Colombia. We had bunuelos and pandebono with our meal. No better anywhere. The coffee was hot and tasty, fresh made. The owner waited on us and he was very friendly and accomodating. Of course, we treated him with poiteness and respect too. My wife is both beyond fastidious and eagle-eyed. Many times we have walked out of places where she spotted things which were turn-offs. No problem here. Everything was so good we bought a bagful to go --- the 300 miles to our home. We have also eaten in some world-famous four and five star restaurants which are not immune from the occasional fly, gnat or mosquito. The last time we ate at a Red Lobster, both mine and my wife's fish entrees were garnished with hair cooked in. Same at an Olive Garden, Will we eat a at Red Lobster or Olive Garden again? Probably. Accidents happen! Will we eat here again? We already have --- by means of a relative who lives nearby and was coming for a visit. She picled up two bags filled with things we...

Wow! Great place here, makes me wish I lived in Statesville! Actually, I'm finding a lot of things about Statesville very appealing. Sabores is one of the highlights and I'm lucky I stumbled across it!!

I just had an empanada, beans, and pastel de guayaba (guava and cheese pastry), and ended up getting two more empanadas and three more pastries to go home with me! Honestly, the pastries were my favorite. I nearly cried eating mine cause it was SO GOOD. And hot. When the staff say it's super hot, believe them! They serve these fried fresh and crispy and they will burn you if you aren't careful, but they're SO WORTH IT! You definitely have to try them if you can!!

The staff are super friendly and helpful. The interior is simple but with some beautiful paintings and decorations on the walls. Excellent, clean restrooms (for customers). Overall, this place is awesome and I WILL be dragging friends and family to eat with me next time I'm in Statesville!...

I have no idea where some of these horrible reviews come from. I used to go to this bakery pretty often, but hadn't been for maybe a year (the bad reviews on here didn't help). I was close by and decided meh, lets go in despite the bad reviews. I'm glad I did. The owner was just as nice as I always remembered him, and I could never picture him treating bad or arguing with a customer. The food was just as I remembered it, very good and fresh. (I am Colombian and everything is on point and authentic) I even used the bathroom, and was shocked by how clean it was. It even smelled good lol. So once again I don't understand the bad reviews, and if you want to eat here, don't let the bad reviews deter you from going like they did for me...

Where to properly start with this place. Well for starters its definitely not a normal cookie cutter restaurant. The owners here are very prideful and it shows in their Authentic Columbian Food. I have but just scratched the surface of all the different combinations and flavors that are available. What I have had has been perfect everytime. Some of my personal favorites are the Meat Empanadas, Fatback, and the Fruit Smoothies. They also serve Pastries here as well. I haven't had any yet, unfortunately I'm usually full by the end of eating the other stuff to continue venturing deeper in the flavor blackhole here.

This restaurant has been amazing after new ownership! Have came a couple times already and everything is fresh and sooo good! I highly recommend the bandeja paisa which has a little bit of everything! As for the bakery, you can’t go wrong with anything! Buñuelos, pandebonos, empanadas, guava pastries to name a few! Also make sure you try some of the fresh juices made with either water or milk. I love getting the mango or mora (blackberry) one with milk! The place is clean and great customer service!
