Stella Mia Pizzeria — Restaurant in Staunton

My partner and I stopped in on a Sunday around noon and were greeted and seated quickly. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable of items on the menu and was able to answer all of our questions. She checked in just the right amount of times and brought refills without needing to be asked. We ended up getting an order of bread sticks, stuffed shells, a small stuffed pizza, and a side Caesar salad.

Breadsticks: *Crunchy outside, soft inside *Plenty of dipping marinara *Definitely recommend

Salad: *The croutons on the ceasar salad are made from the breadstick bread and are so good. I don't normally like croutons because they're usually ridiculously hard, but I ate every single one of these!! *The dressing was different from most other ceasar dressings but still tasted good. It was a little sweet and less tangy.

Stuffed pizza: *Very much like a calzone, overall, it was good. You are able to customize the ingredients. There is no sauce inside.

Stuffed shells: *2 to a plate. That seemed like it was not going to be enough food, but they were surprisingly filling with lots of cheese. *I enjoyed the marinara, and the pasta was cooked well. *They are about $11, so take that into consideration when you order.

Other random thoughts: *Plenty of seating *Plenty of parking *Bathroom was clean My partner stated that he would have liked the bread items to be slightly *less cooked/crunchy and it seemed like the oven may be too hot or it was left in a bit too long? I had no issue. These are just our personal preferences, obviously, so take everything with a grain of salt :)

Overall, I'm pleased with our meal and the service received. If we are ever in the area again, I would be happy to stop in and try some other dishes and maybe...

7 of us walked in to eat dinner June 26 approx 7:30.. staff made look of disgust seeing big group, host asked how many stated 7 he/ she slammed menus on counter. There were only 3 tables being used, old couple ( 2 people) seated at a table for 8-10 people. We were told our group would have to sit multiple separate tables.. It’s my opinion staff didn’t want to deal with big group at this time of evening absolutely rude!! And unprofessional… take your family an money to a place that actually wants you there…. This site will not allow a reply so I’ll add it here ::she speaks her mind when treatment is rude we’ve been there same time multiple times an never felt so unwelcomed and it was 7 people including kids not 9 plus kids so I bet you were not there mr. owner no worries tho we will never enter your building again.. BTW some of those 7 work in hospitality, guest ask for restaurant recommendation...

Honestly, I hate to write a bad review, but I hope the owners will take this review to heart. The food did not taste good at all. The cheesesteak lacked any real flavor even considering all the toppings that were on it. My wife ordered the ziti and that was a big let down as that is what I started to order. The Ziti was watery and the sauce was just not what a sauce is supposed to taste like. We got the jalapeno cheddar poppers but the "cheddar" was of cheap quality comparable to that of a gas station cheese dispenser. I care for small business owners and hope they will consider this review and work to use better ingredients and craft better recipes so they don't ultimately suffer the fate of so many restaurants.
