Atlantic Coney Island — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. Went with my son for dinner only to find out that they are a breakfast and lunch only place. That was my fault for not checking. Went with my wife for lunch a few days later and it was a bit unusual. The food was good. My wife had a hamburger, she wanted a cheeseburger but the cheese choices are a little small. That's not a complaint just a fact. My sandwich which was on the menu but nothing like I had ever had before was really good (chicken ranch wrap.) Actually they don't list wraps, only pitas, but you can get a wrap and it was offered by the waitress. The fries were hot and the hamburger appeared to be hand patted out. The weirdness was that it took awhile to even get a menu. We weren't sure what to do. When our waitress came she explained that they were getting slammed with takeout orders and apologized. The waitresses don't appear to help each other out which we are used to in other restaurants. That was the weird part. I used to waitress and was very good at it, always going above and beyond for my tables and treating them like family. I was given a Random Acts of Kindness card a couple years back along with a $100 tip on a $15.00 bill. I came here today hoping to pay that forward, but unfortunately the girl ended up with a $5 tip versus a $100 one. She was more interested in her phone than tables, all 3 of them. I thought that this little diner would be a great place to pay it forward because they are not very busy, but didn't end up happening today and the food was not very good, although the girl did offer to replace it, but I just said no so that is not wrong...

Rude server at the counter is incapable of getting you anything you ask for. I asked for a glass of water with lemon, had to ask 3 more times for lemon and she kept handing me folded up straws from her pocket. She seemed more interested in playing with her cell phone than her job. I ordered the Ruben on rye. When I pointed out the fact that I didn't get rye, she argued with me about it. I wasn't allowed silverware other than a dirty knife and had to eat like a barbarian with my hands. I'll never come back here again. Very...
