I went to Apollo Coney on 3/16/23 about 11:30 am. The restaurant has a Mom and Pop shop feel, nothing fancy but the food. This is my first visit here. The lady that took my order on phone was very polite. My order was ready in 15 minutes. Pick up my order, a middle-aged lady with blonde hair.( I didn't catch her name. She knows who she is) 🙂. I'm big on customer service and she delivered it. She didn't treat me different because I was a new customer, I appreciate that. The breakfast was cooked like I had asked. It actually tastes like the food I cook for myself. I did put my toast in toaster though because I like the crunch. I had it with a Coke and a 😊. The customer service and the food will bring me back.

It’s a great Coney Island or greasy spoon and I mean that in nicest way. It’s an authentic Coney Island restaurant passed down from generation to generation. The tzatziki is a family recipe that needs to be updated by adding a ton of garlic. That’s what Americans want, a lot of flavor. Our tastebuds have changed over the years. Dude, where’s the salt on the fries! They look great but again read above. I’m sure the other dishes are just fine but probably a little bland. The coney was awesome. I don’t eat onions and I forgot to minus them so I only took 1 bite but knew right away that’s how it done.

Best chili-cheese fries I’ve ever had. The coney would be amazing if they used a hotdog w/ more snap. I’m now working in the area &, since I really liked it last time, I was excited to come in again. This time around, however, I was pretty upset. Firstly, my chili cheese fries were put on the same plate as my gyro. The food was good like last time. My gyro meat was well-done: which I like. But, just clear laziness w/ the fries being on the same plate &, get this, a paper cup of tzatziki in my gyro!

These 5 star reviews are absurd and very misleading, but not surprising since only the positive ones are actually shown. The chili dogs I had at this Coney Island were by far the worst I've ever had, the hot dogs were poor quality and had thick skins on them, and chili wasn't very good either. I really cannot understand these reviews, either they are fake or people truly do not know what good food actually is. Either way much better Coneys elsewhere, will not be back at this one.

Update Response to the owner: Your prices may be cheaper but the result is as well... as the saying goes "you get what you pay for", you buy cheap and you get cheap and I feel like it shows in the quality of the food, and I feel that my experience was not a "bad random batch" as you claim. I feel that in this instance paying more for something better is worth it, especially in the restaurant industry where it is not exactly healthy to eat anything "if the price is right". I realize that this is a Coney Island, not a gourmet restaurant but even in the Coney Island industry, some are better than others because each restaurant chooses where they get their food/ingredients from and how much they spend to acquire those ingredients. Price is a good indicator of quality in many different areas, and certainly in Coney Islands as well just like...

Fresh food made to order, Apollo 3's are absolutely amazing. Puts the original National Coney Island's Hani to shame. Absolutely love this place, they make the food with a love and passion, not just an assembly line with employees only focused on one thing, which is wanting to get the heck out of there. Thank you guys for making great food thats rare to find now of days.

YOU ARE MOST WELCOME, in my experience with Apollo. Each visit, I seen hard work to produce a wonderfully tasting meal, I'm a firm believer where credit is due, it needs to be given/shared! I used to live in the area but now I travel from St. Clair Shores passing quite a few Coney places just to get that uniquely top notch Apollo meal. These guys don't mind customizing the order if that's what you need. Extra this, minus that ect. I want to say thank you guys and keep up the amazing job. I only hope my review is enough to fully express my appreciation and more people come in to give Apollo the initial chance that will forever have you thinking of Apollo, when you think of coney island for...

I ordered a cheeseburger that came with an extra long black hair on it. After finding the hair they took it the plate and and examined as if it was lying. Never once did I receive an apology and they basically ignored me/my table. I had to call them over to refill my water. It would seem that a situation like that you would be sincere/ apologetic and make sure everything else was good. I guess you get what you pay for. The grand finale of the situation was the waitress brought my bill and informed me that "Here is your bill , I took the burger off" and walked away. I paid the bill and no one else even acknowledged the situation. I assumed going to a restaurant whether well known establishment, family diner or OTHER....... that customer service is key at least it would be for me. I hope who ever visits this restaurant has a better experience. Red Robin...
