The woman who works there shouldn't be working with the public. I gave it two tries since it's changed (when I gave it 5 stars.) I heard there were new owners and never heard why the old ones left but they are missed! I went in after church and hadn't been in a long time. I have a 5 year old daughter who of course changes her mind of what she wanted and she expected me to know what everything was and annoyed I asked questions. I have gastroparesis and lived a long time with feeding tubes so there's certain stuff I can't eat. I thought maybe she was having a bad day. I paid with my card and she walked away. I went down by the drinks because that's what you used to do and talked to me like I was stupid that I had to come and sign for it. I didn't see anything on the screen or a paper, it was an honest mistake to be so moody over.
Yesterday we went there after church again. My mom had to eat because of her health issues and meds and I was like ok we'll try again. So I was ordering and the sandwich my mom wanted she's like wrap or Asiago. I'm thinking sandwich on bread and asked what she meant and oh man was that horrible. I had to order all the drinks first then the food and got talked down to because I was doing each of what we wanted together, you know, like everywhere else in the world does. So I knew I had to sign so I waited and tipped this time on a $32 bill that was hardly worth what we ordered. My daughter was sitting with my mom and said something about her hot chocolate. The lady says "it's over here where it's been for the last 5 minutes." Oh wow, ok great, don't say anything to me. Just be snarky.
We ate there this time and I couldn't see the drinks. I got the same smoothie I got last time that I didn't see how she did it. My daughter wanted a straw with her hot chocolate. Like a skinny one that comes with coffee a lot of the time and she was saying how that would burn her mouth and I explained what she meant and didn't acknowledge I said anything. A man walked in wanting to order. He called out a name, so I'm assuming he knows her and waited around about 5 minutes and left because she never came. I took my daughter to the bathroom and came out to her sitting at the next table eating with someone. Maybe they need more help? Especially when church is open?
I get people have bad days and that's why we tried again. The way she speaks to people, I wouldn't be working next to a church. My daughter ordered a muffin both times that just crumbles when you eat it. So you end up with more crumbs that muffin you eat. My "tosted" bagel was cold. Yes I did get cream cheese on it and I guess the whole container they use on it would cool it down. Funny how the inside only looked/felt toasted but the outside of the bagel was not. I guess it was silly of me to assume the whole thing would be toasted.
The previous owners gave some proceeds to charity all around the world. They had more of a menu of real food that was super good. You didn't have to purchase a bottle of water and could get a cup to use on the pop machine where there was water. They walked around with hot cookies to those finishing up and gave them to you for free. You could get money off by an app (I forgot which one) and also had a rewards card. They were friendly, hard working, generous people. I can't say that about my last two experiences there, being the first two times I've been there since other people took it over. It wasn't like I was holding a line up or anything. Maybe put up a sign that says order all your drinks first then food and pick up your beverages over here instead of "it's been sitting over here for the past 5 minutes." I am a little worried that you can see the food being prepared because I hope she wouldn't do anything to it simply because I wasn't familiar with how it's ran now. Maybe she needs to catch a few services at church or take a class about how to treat others, especially working a business. She made me feel like I was stupid both times. Never again. I will...

We ordered two steak bowls since she said she couldn't make us chicken bowls bc of one ingredient that was out of stock for a long time "bc of covid" which was the beans... um okay so pick up or order beans from somewhere else or make it without beans then. Nope, instead it's totally not offered. Okay fine. I also ordered a smoothie after the cashier confirmed that they were made with fresh fruits and nothing else. She took our payment at the register, and then began to make my smoothie without washing her hands or putting on gloves after touching money. I watched her take a plastic cup to the back and pick ice up with her bare hands and place it into the cup. Then she came back out to the front and filled it with pumps of flavored syrup and blended it up. The only thing about the smoothie was the fresh were the germs from her bare hands that went into it! Needless to say I didn't drink it =[ The food came out and it was clearly a pre-cooked steak that was gray and had cold spots from not being reheated well enough. It came with pre-packaged guac, and pre-packaged corn salsa (should've said corn on the menu) over a bed of quinoa. It tasted like frozen, re-heated cafeteria food. Nothing was fresh except a couple pieces of bell pepper in it. I took two bites out of hunger and couldn't eat anymore bc it sucked so bad. This place could really use a little music to break the dead silence. Like many people, we don't like to say anything or complain, so we took a loss and left and decided to never return. Upon leaving it was clear to us why the parking lot was empty and why the majority of the dining room is closed. A lot of people have good experiences here bc all they order is the coffee. Go somewhere else if you want...
Read moreI came here on a weekday around 1:15PM. When I arrived, no one was at the counter. I saw a woman in the back but it took a few minutes for her to acknowledge me. She was not friendly and muttered something about how she was busy. I waited between 5-10 minutes for her to come out to the counter. She first handed a man some food she apparently had been preparing in the back. She then went back behind the counter but continued to do something I couldn't see before finally deciding to take my order.
I understand places can get busy, but I was the only person standing in line. If she was preparing food in the back, she could have let me know and that it would have been a while before she could take my order. While she took my order, she never smiled once and seemed annoyed when I asked a question about which flavors they had.
I asked for a 20 ounce flavored latte. It was over $6, which is the same price as the Biggby that's not too far away, but I can use coupons there. The drink had hardly any flavor (which I was charged extra for!) and was very bitter. As I was walking out, I noticed that the drink looked small. I looked on the bottom of the cup and saw that it was a 16oz cup. I was charged for a 20 ounce and received a smaller size for a drink that didn't even taste good. I would have went back in and said something, but I hated the taste and just threw the drink out.
If you enjoy lattes that are more on the bitter side and are light on the flavor, you may enjoy this place. Just be prepared to wait if anyone before you orders food and don't expect...
