I recently had the pleasure of dining at Johnny Blacks restaurant, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment I entered the establishment, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for the evening.

One of the highlights of my visit was the exceptional service provided by the talented and engaging waitress, Pina. Her friendly demeanor and attentiveness throughout the meal truly made a difference. Pina's ability to anticipate our needs, offer insightful recommendations, and ensure that everything was just perfect was truly remarkable. Her professionalism and dedication to providing an outstanding dining experience were evident in every interaction we had with her.

Not only did Pina deliver impeccable service, but she also exhibited a genuine passion for her role, which further enhanced our dining experience. She went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and made us feel valued as customers. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she took the time to explain the dishes in detail, ensuring that we made informed choices.

Pina's ability to strike the perfect balance between being attentive and giving us space to enjoy our meal was admirable. She was always available when needed, yet never intrusive. Her friendly smile and positive energy added a personal touch to the evening, making us feel truly welcome.

In addition to Pina's exceptional service, I must also commend the entire staff at Johnny Blacks. The atmosphere was inviting, and the restaurant's ambiance was elegant yet comfortable. The food itself was delectable, with each dish expertly prepared and presented. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the beautiful plating to the exquisite flavors.

I highly recommend Johnny Blacks restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. The combination of delectable cuisine, inviting atmosphere, and, most importantly, the outstanding service provided by Pina, make it a true gem in the culinary landscape. I sincerely hope that Pina receives the recognition she deserves for her exceptional performance and dedication. She truly made our evening special and deserves accolades, as well as a well-earned raise.

Kudos to Johnny Blacks and their remarkable team for delivering an unforgettable dining experience. I look forward to my next visit, eager to indulge in the culinary delights and impeccable service that make this establishment...

I gave two stars instead of one because the manager did try to resolve the issue. I had heard from quite a few friends that the service was bad at Johnny Blacks, but I always prefer to experience it myself because you can't always trust other people's opinions. I met up with friends who had been there for roughly 10-15 minutes before me and they were still sitting on the patio with just menus, no drinks, not even water. I asked if they knew about the reputation of this place and they laughed and told me to flag down a server, but as I was standing there, someone came by and said they would grab someone for us. Roughly seven minutes later, our server comes with two waters for the three of us and ask if we wanna order, so we order some pop and some alcohol, about four or five minutes later she comes back with the pop and tells my friend they're out of the beer she wanted, so my friend ordered a mixed drink, I also ordered some pretzel sticks at this time. So a few more minutes come by and everyone's alcohol comes except my friends mixed drink, and I try to reason because it is a little busy for a Thursday night, but to be fair they've been waiting for a while now and we all have work in the morning. So finally my friend had enough has says she's just going to the bar herself to get the drink and complains about how ridiculous this is, and a group of servers overhears her. A little after she leaves, our server drops off her drink, so I go to grab her from the bar but she already ordered and come to find out one of the overhearing servers talked to a manager and was sending them over. The manager asked how it was going, so we explained. The manager said she understood our frustration and would take care of it, but still the server didn't improve. So I mean, maybe the server had a bad night, we're all human, and the manager took the drinks off our bills which was very kind. But if you see that we're frustrated enough with you to go to the bar to get our own drinks, and even have a manager come talk to us, you don't need to make us top priority, but at least come over and explain what's going on. Maybe you're new, overwhelmed with another table, something. So with all the other negative things I've heard and now my own personal negative experience, I don't plan on going back. I will say the pretzel sticks were brought up by a runner and were delicious. So I can't speak on any of their other food, but those are at least...

I've eaten at the Sterling Hts location twice inside and once as a carry out. Eating in was ok, the food we had was good, the service was no more than average. It was with the carry out order that I had a pretty bad experience. I arrive and the hostess directs me to the bar to get a carry out. The bar is huge and there are three people at the bar and two bartenders. I stood at the left end of the bar while the bartenders stayed down at the right end. After a while with no one even looking my way, I moved to the center section of the bar. A bartender came down and asked what I needed. I gave her my name, she went in back and came out with my order. The phone then rang and she answered it while handing me my order and my bill. I had 4 orders of fish and chips and I asked for extra tartar sauce. I notice they charged me $3 for extra tartar sauce but wasn't too worried about it. The bill came to $57 And some change. I get my money out while she remains on the phone with her back to me as she types on a screen on the wall behind the bar. I watch this for about three minutes as servers and the other bartender stand around doing NOTHING. Apparently the girl in the phone is the only person in the entire establishment that can cash out a carry out, or take a carry out over the phone. Finally I say, "I'm sorry, but can I get please get out of here before my food becomes colder than it already is"? She then asks the person on the phone if they would mind holding. She takes my money and turns around again and starts typing on the screen. I then say "please thank whoever charged me $3 for extra tartar sauce". I ordered $54 worth of fish dinners and can't get some extra tartar sauce thrown in. I get my change and leave. I get home and there is NO tartar sauce at all. Each dinner has a small container of ranch dressing but absolutely no tartar sauce anywhere. I called the mgr and her first words were "well, that's disappointing". Now I understood why nothing in that building was running smoothly. When the mgr is an idiot, it will all...

The Crab cake Benedict that I had was absolutely delicious and one of my favorite dishes I’ve had in a long time. BUT, Their menu state that the Crabs cakes Benedict I had was $15, on my receipt I was charge $17. I asked to talk to the manager which was an older woman wearing a brown dress. She finally came out after much reluctance looked up our table bill and then cowardly proceeded to find the waitress had her come and give a refund out of her own pocket. Their restaurant system overcharged according to their menu. This place is dirty around where they keep the ice at the bar. Please ZOOM in on the pictures that I have posted. The drink dispenser has some kind of bacteria growing on it. Zoom into the wires inside of the ice maker that has not been cleaned in probably years, Your ice is not clean this is also an area where people walk by all the time, it doesn’t have a cover on it. Who knows if people are coughing and sneezing as they pass it, who knows what’s going into your ice. What upset me the most was the manager that handled the situation Poorly, she’s actually taking money out of the pocket of the server’s instead of taking the money out of the companies pocket. I would really hate to see what the kitchen looks like if the public area looks like this. I have posted pictures of the menu and my bill so that you can see the price difference. It’s really too bad, I won’t be back.

My wife and I were in Sterling heights and found that we were hungry. We did a quick search for local restaurants and found Johnny Black's Public House was nearby. The name alone caused us to come and check out the place. We found the interior to be pleasing, stylish yet modern in a way. The menu is large and they had a separate menu for the day's specials and another menu with cocktails and draught beer. For an appetizer, we had the Brussels sprouts which were fantastic! I had the chicken piccata for an entree. Their preparation is a departure from the classic because it has tomatoes and potatoes. The menu wasn't clear but the potatoes were a mashed potato that went very well with the dish! Draught beers and ciders are served in large 22 Oz. glasses, presenting an amazing value! To finish our meal, we ordered the deep-fried Oreos dessert. OMG! copious amounts of ice cream and whipped cream complimented a center row of battered and deep-fried chocolate Oreo cookies! We will come back again just to get this dessert!

Update from 10/20/24: not much has changed, read previous review below. To add a thought, it is a loud restaurant bar combination environment. Therefore, I would not recommend it for date if your goal is to have a relaxing conversation. It is more a going out with friends type of environment. A hopping bar and grill, the menu has quite a few options beyond burgers and bar food which is nice, quality is good but not necessarily a WOW or step above . . yet I gave it 4 stars and recommend going. Has a couple of outdoor patios which are nice because they are not on top of a busy street like so many are. Especially the side patio that has table height seating instead of counter table height. I prefer lower tables with my feet on the ground. It allows me to cross my legs when I am their for a drink. Last but not least, if you are a sports fan, there are ample T.V.'s allowing you to view different games.
