Subway — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

False Accusations, Police Involvement, Unprofessional Behavior, Vaping Indoors, and Threatened Service Refusal

I am extremely disappointed with what happened at this Subway location on 10/01/2024 at around 3 PM. My younger sister and her friend, who are students at Sterling Heights High School, were accused of stealing soda from the fountain machine when they were only getting water. Instead of addressing the situation calmly, the employee called the police.

When the police arrived, they confirmed the students had done nothing wrong and informed the employee of the mistake. Despite this, the employee continued to act unprofessionally and stated she would refuse to serve them in the future. Additionally, she was witnessed vaping indoors while working, which raises health and safety concerns.

When another coworker arrived to begin their shift, the students were spoken about in a derogatory way. This, combined with the unnecessary involvement of the police, left a very negative impression.

This location would benefit from retraining staff on professionalism, communication, and proper workplace conduct. Based on this experience, we will not be returning, and I encourage management to take steps to ensure incidents like this do not...

The subs are good here but if Google and the sign on the place says they are open till 10 pm shouldn't they actually be open till 10 pm? I got off of work, specifically drove here because of their open till 10 pm time and needed a sub for my kids picnic the very next morning. It was 9:50 pm and the OPEN sign was on all lit up but the door was locked. The girl inside yelled they were closed and didn't even address me beyond that even though I asked why are they closed early? Obviously way more concerned with closing early than serving a desperate last minute customer. Now my kid has to be late for the picnic tomorrow because she couldn't make one last sub. Got there at opening time next morning. They explained that they close 5 minutes early but I got there 10 minutes before. Is 5 or 10 minutes that important to somebody. I would gladly stay after work 5 minutes to help a person who really needed something. The day of making customers happy. it's over. Nice outdoor mall with smaller stores and very pleasant environment to walk around. Sort of like a small town atmosphere in the heart of a large metropolis area. Plenty of good places to eat and/or drink. If you are a business traveler or casually travelling through the area looking for a place to spend 2-5 hours during the evening or afternoon, I suggest you visit Partridge Creek. There is also a very large fireplace gathering area and free entertainment on some evenings during the summer months. I am guess Fri's and Sat's but I suggest you check their website. Last but not least, Partridge Creek is on M59 which has many, many, many stores, restaurants, and bars. If you don't find someplace to eat and/or drink you like there after a nice stroll through the mall you are guaranteed to find something on the stretch of M59...
