The cake tasted very good and was close to what I ordered with respect to design (not exact but close and certainly better than I could do myself).
I did however have difficulty with the ordering process. The website indicates you can "book now" at least 2 days in advance for specialty cakes/cupcakes through a fillable form on the website. So, 8 days before my event I contacted through the website with the idea that "book now" meant place an order, along with the fact that the contact us form has the following listed above it:
Submit the following form to schedule a wedding cake consultation, order personalized cupcakes or cakes, or ask a question. You may also call or stop in for more information.
4 days before I needed my cake, I was made aware my cake couldn't be picked up until a time that wouldn't work for me if I had any intention of having my requested design on it. How could that be if I already placed my order 4 days earlier? It was then that I was told I hadn't been placing my order as I emailed with someone for 4 days to determine size, shape, flavors and designs for the cake. You must call the store to place an order (despite what the website says).
Fortunately, eventually, I was able to get confirmation in writing that it would work to pickup at my requested time. But then, the day of the party, I learned that the wrong pickup time was selected on the store's end so the cake still wasn't ready for pickup when I asked for it to be. To the bakery's credit, it was still ready much earlier than the time originally offered.
The whole ordeal was truly a whirlwind. I came to this bakery because several family members have ordered from here through the years and the cakes have always been good. I wish I had known about the challenging ordering process, however, because I would have then strongly reconsidered, as a first time mom, ordering from here for my child's...
Read moreThis place was so highly recommended, but I had an awful experience from beginning to end. They were quite impatient and rude when I was asking them questions about which cake to order, as I've never ordered from them before, and it was as if they couldn't wait to get rid of me rather than care about what their customer wanted to order. I went through with the order because I had high expectations for the cake, just thought that maybe they were busy and impatient. They have a short list of cake flavors but several options for fillings. BUT, you're not allowed to combine certain fillings with different cake flavors because they can't think outside the box to conceive of those combinations. So, I was not able to order what flavor combination I actually wanted. I ended up ordering something that sounded like it was going to be delicious, paid $60! for a cake, and it was mostly frosting! The filling WAS NOT good, several of my guests, including children, did not care for the cake, and the cake part itself was definitely nothing special! Also, when I said what decorations I wanted on it for a toddler's birthday party, they said they wouldn't do it because it would be "too busy". The cake decorations looked pretty, overall (otherwise I wouldn't have taken it home), but it was very simple and really nothing like I had originally envisioned for my two-year-old's birthday. This place is awful for customer service! The only way you'd get a custom cake worth eating is if you know exactly which flavor combinations are both popular and "allowed" by the bakery. I would never recommend, and one of my other guests said that they now know they'll never order a...
Read moreSo I rarely write reviews, but here it goes: Although their cake tasted good, our wedding cake was MUCH smaller than what had been shown to us during the signing of our contract. We were shown fake tier samples and discussed size/servings for our large wedding. It was very expensive for what we actually received, and extremely disappointing to get a much less impressive cake than expected when you pay over $1000 for something. I wouldnât recommend their services for any big events. Additionally, they kept our deposit because there was a miscommunication about when to return the cake stand. When I called to apologize for the confusion and make sure they had located the stand (which they had), I was legitimately yelled at by a woman who cut me off and didnât even allow for me to speak. Until that point, everyone I had spoken to had been very friendly. I had just returned from my honeymoon where I didnât have cell phone service and she was angry that I was unable to be reached regarding this matter and she âhad to search and search and hunt down the stand herselfâ (although the cake stand was located and retrieved before I returned from my one week honeymoon). Mind you, the stand was located at the wedding venue 5 miles away where we paid them $50 to deliver and $30 to rent the stand... Plus the $100 they kept because the stand was returned late. Lol The fees really add up with this bakery, and on top of everything, we didnât even get the cake...
