My Pizza Place — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

Just received our carry out order and I am not pleased with order accuracy and quality. We ordered one large 1-topping square Sicilian style pizza, 10 Garlic Parmesean Baked Chicken Wings, 1/2 slab of ribs, a medium Cobb salad w/Poppyseed dressing and a full Sub w/an extra side of Italian Dressing.

My friend really liked the pizza, (I didn't eat it so I can't speak to the flavor). Next, the Garlic Parmesean wings were very, very tender however, they were very, very salty for my taste and inedible. My friend said the wings were just "meh". There was definitely minced garlic on the wings but lacked parmeaean. They were promptly pushed to the side.

The ribs were for my friend and he did not like them at all. The ribs were falling-off-the-bone tender however, they were extremely fatty. I've never seen baby back ribs that fatty before. My friend thought the ribs were beef ribs because they were so fatty and meat looked a tad dark with the texture of beef. After I looked at one of the bones, it did look like it was pork baby back. Nonetheless, he reported the ribs were not smoked ribs from the grill but seemed par boiled, baked and were very fatty and chewy.

The medium Cobb salad was packed with grilled chicken and real chopped bacon on top, however it was thrown on top of the tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and cheese and the presentation wasn't the greatest. Additionally, my friend ordered the Poppyseed dressing for the salad but incorrectly received Michigan Cherry Dressing instead. My friend wasn't wild about the dressing as it was sweet and not to his liking however, he did say the salad was good & tasty regardless.

I ordered the Sub and my sub was toasted...and pretty well toasted at that. The bun, meat and what seemed the cheese was toasted crispy. The bun was a lil hard and the cheese was thorouhly toasted into the hard bun. There was was a pinch of cold lettuce, some tomato and a bunch of raw onion. I expected the entire sub to he cold, hence the reason I didn't order a Grinder instead. Also, I ordered an additional 3oz. side of Italian dressing (.95¢ extra) and it wasn't in the order. I gave my sub to my friend because I didn't want that hard toasted sub.

I called to state the issues with the order and was told that the subs are toasted unless asked to be left cold. Well sir, you need to put that on your menu so people know that before they order or ask the customer if they want sub cold or toasted when they place the order.

Pizza Place wouldn't deliver the corrected order because the address was too far, however they did offer a replacement salad on our next carry out order. Humph. My friend likes thier pizza so he will be back. I on the other hand, will not order from this...

The only reason why I am 1 star is because the pizza isn't that bad. If it was up to me, I'd give zero stars just because of the blatant lack of effort.

I ordered at 6'oclock PM. Thought it'd be nice to order from someplace that wasn't a chain pizza place. The guy that answered sounded like he wanted nothing to do with me at all. I make a simple order. They tell me 45 minutes to an hour which I wasn't mad about - even though I live 2 minutes away. But then one hour passed and then 2 hours pass. I call the store back and ask what's going on. A different guy who answered the phone said the delivery guy should be here any time. So I give it another chance. I wait another 20 minutes and still nothing.

I call the store a final time asking for my money back, and whomever I talked to seemed hesitant on getting me my money back, he said the driver was at my building door trying to buzz my apartment, but no one would answer. I just moved to this area and I have no idea what may or may not be wrong with my building's communication system. I tell the guy on the phone that I didn't hear anything or see anyone pull up to my building's parking lot. (I was actually watching out the window to make sure something like this didn't happen) and I go back to asking for my money back. The person said that he didn't know how to reverse the transaction and said he had to call someone else to figure out how to do it.

So I gave them another chance and ask them to just remake it and send it back. They told me 30 minutes, I was pretty mad about this, but I accepted it. 35 minutes later, I get a phone call (which I probably should've gotten the first time the driver was "outside my building") saying he was outside but my room buzzer doesn't work. I go downstairs and see no one. So I wait outside for 10 minutes waiting to see this guy after giving him pretty specific directions. Still don't see him. He calls me back, tells me he had the wrong address, and proceeds to walk down the road to try to find me. I ended up walking to him instead.

Google ratings do not meet my standards. I rate this place 4.5 stars. Here’s the run down. Found this place online. Headed over there to check it out. Pull up and a guy is out front with pizza shirt on. Sweet ! His about his business. Kinda roll down the window he greets me. (Inside is closed Covid-19 ) nice guy. I read the menu and wasn’t that happy with it. There is to much information. If you do pizza best put it right in our face. Needs to predominately be pizza choices with more pizza photos. Menu needs work. I call the number another guy answers. He seems a little burnt out and he couldn’t hear very well. I was looking for advice from him on what to order. What’s unique ? What’s new ? What are you know for ? Not much input or even a suggestion. He recommends cheese and pep. To cheer me up. Ok fine. I order round cheese and pep, square cheese and bacon, and something I haven’t seen. Pickled cheese bread. Not a huge pickle fan but I had to try it. Place was pretty busy so he has some regulars for sure. The crust of the square was good, the cheese was also good. However the round was the better of the two. Shockingly the pickled cheese bread stole the show. I probably liked the bread a little more than the pizza. I didn’t think that was going to happen.
