Don Pedro's — Restaurant in Sterling

Went in there approximately 115 on April 18 I asked what was good. They told me the nachos. I decided to try hardshell tacos. I got three of them which I was charged nine dollars for when I opened a bag up which I said I was going to eat there and I watch the gentleman put it on a plate and then threw it in a bag. I don’t know why, but when I opened up the aluminum foil, there was nothing in the shells one nibble and meat maybe two strange cheese and lettuce. I took all three tacos and made a half a taco and ate it. I gave the taco shells back to the lady at the counter and said you can have the shells that I paid for Because I figured they might need them if they’re running that low on inventory to feed their customers I hate to say it because I tried to support local businesses, but that is a scam. If that’s a type of food they’re giving their people they’re giving all loco merchants, a bad name from my understanding the same people on Arthur’s the one in Moline is awesome. The one here they kind of do the same thing barely give you food for your money. Like I said, I love to support local businesses, but but I guess we need the big boys in like Jersey Mike’s and I hate to say it even Taco Bell‘s better than what I just ate or paid to eat. Better than Taco Bell at a bit more of a cost. This place has very good Mexican style food. Add about a dollar more to the TB menu and that's your price range. Service is almost always on point. I have personally encountered a few slow crew members and at night about 2 hours before closing I had an encounter with an obviously annoyed (shift manager?) crew member who seemed to be (at least partly) in charge. She was complaining and whinging on about customers she didn't like and other things in that vein. Being the undeterred type I had no problem continuing on there but if you are not then you may want to steer clear after 7pm. I was there at 7:40pm and others came in after me and were treated similarly with one young couple given an inviting "what do you want now?" from the aforementioned complaining crew member. This young lady is quite unprofessional and brash so if you aren't bothered by these loud pushy types please come down at night (not too late of course) and join me in some very yummy noms and a good laugh with friends. I used to love going to Don Pedro's every week for lunch in high school, but I had stopped going when they got too expensive and they were forgetting things in my order. However, I thought I would give them a try today after work, what a mistake. The girl at the window was beyond rude. She didn't give any kind of greeting when I pulled up. Said my total and that was it. I handed her my card, she handed me a bag and closed the window. She returned to the window after running my card handing it back and closed the window, all without saying anything to me. Didn't say anything about my chips being in the bag (I ordered a taco salad), here's your card back, have a good day or anything. I've worked in food service in the past (now i work in healthcare) and just like anything other job where you work with the public you need to have good customer service skills. This girl DOES NOT. Don Pedro's needs to reevaluate their staff. Now I won't be going back again for...
