My family an I have been on a deep search for some real Mexican food. We've tried alot of places in the area. We are from California, an our expectations are still not met sadly.
The restaurant is very clean and has some nice photos up of the menu. The theme is like a Taco truck almost and has a big variety of food to chose from. My husband got tacos de carne ( carne asada tacos) and same for my daughter. My husband mentioned they were a touch dry, and the tortillas fell apart right away. My son ordered the " Floatas" and couldn't really bite into them. They were hard and brown.. not gold. ( old grease indication) I liked my burrito, but didn't care for the black beans in it. The horchata was not the traditional Mexican one, so I'd assume it's Salvadoran style. It was chalky and tolerable to drink but I wasn't a fan. The customer service was good, and they both, the gentlemen an lady in the back were kind.
I will come back and explore the menu while I am here...
Read moreAlright, I am not a foodie or anything. I just love food and talking about it. Only tried three things. Overall not bad place to get food, next time I’m in I’ll definitely try other things on the menu. Still recommend eating here if you’re around and don’t feel like a basic subway sandwich.
Birria taco - good nice crisp on the outside while the sauce was impeccably delicious. This was today’s winner for me.
Pupusa revuelta - Good taste, not enough outter crisp to the tortilla. Started to fall apart after first bite but I was thrown off by the amount of oil coming off it.
Pollo a la brasa - Not a fan of the chicken, dry, not enough flavor. Yuca and fried rice were pretty bomb though. Definitely better than the chicken. Lots of food for the price which is...
Read moreEl Chef Latino LLC, has come a long way from the first time I visited. The staff is very good at making accommodations of the menu and prepare the meals with so much care and quality that it's worth giving them a shot for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is located in Sterling, VA ; across the road from the new DMV. Although kind of isolated in a small portion of the shopping center with very limited parking and a Subways, a Chinese restaurant and a Hispanic bakery it tends to get lost in plain sight because most of the signs are red and white, so you'd have to stop to actually see El Chef Latino. But the food is good, the inside of the restaurant can handle a...
