King Pollo of Sterling — Restaurant in Virginia

If you’re planning on going to King Pollo, please don’t. It was my first time going and I had high expectations but unfortunately they didn’t meet my standards. The main reason why I am taking a few minutes of my day to type this review is so others can be aware. I had ordered half a chicken and the cooker female realized that they didn’t have anymore cooked so she told me it would take longer for a fresh half a chicken to come out, a few minutes later the cashier who was a male was told by that female cooker in secret to take half a chicken from a box already on the pick up table to give it to us instead. I was disgusted and bothered. Who knows how long that chicken was in that box for! I spoke up about the situation to the cooker and asked for a manager but there was no manager on duty when there really should be! she only said if I wanted to come the next day to talk to the manager, she couldn’t have suggested to giving me another fresh half a chicken. The cashier didn’t even care and didn’t speak up or apologize, no one apologized. The hospitality was horrible, and I am never going back. Worst first...

This was not my first time here. I was here a few months back before the pandemic to get a quick bite. Usually, I am not a fan of these rotisserie styled restaurants , but today I wanted to give them a try as they didn't disappoint the last time I was here. Firstly, it's an open concept restaurant with limited seating, which is obvious. The kitchen, order point and pick-up point is on the immediate left upon entry, which can easily fill up with customersif you don't know that right away. And the menu is presented ona flat screen advice the serving area, but easily viewed downward when ordering. The food especially the chicken is cooked throughly and not pink on the inside. Many other places fail my review of the chicken is pink, for me it's not cooked. King Pollo of Sterling cooks it right without the loss of tenderness and moisture, which is hard to do. On Dec 6 2022 at 8:00 PM, my family and I went to eat to this establishment. We are familiar with the King Pollo in Chantilly VA, their service and food are good, but our experience at the Sterling location was really poor. One of the chefs was making fun of us and the other one was really rude. Unfortunately, my elderly mother and my 8 year old took some time to decide their dinner preferences, and there were no other customers waiting, but this does not give the right to talk on top of customer or giving a sarcastic attitude.
