McDonald's — Restaurant in Sterling

I was harassed at a McDonald's by a Karen who decided that I had no right to eat my food & watch the news quietly in the Playplace. Yes, I'm autistic. Yes, I had cat ears on my head. The room was empty when I sat down. I wanted a quiet corner to eat.

She asked me to run off my news. I turned it down twice before telling her "no" the third time. That is when she jumped up & told me she was going to have me thrown out.

I told her I was not bothering anyone, then called her a Karen" twice. "OK Karen." She marched up to the counter only to come right back to meet me at the playplace door on the way out.

Fast forward 2 weeks. I came in for lunch only to have the worker not want to wait on me.

Me : "I'll have you number (?) fish, no sauce, add dehydrated onions & pickles."

Worker : "That's not how it comes."

Me : "I know how it comes. I'm telling you how I want it made."

Get my cup & set down to wait for my meal. I am at the table & can see & hear them at the counter talking about me.

It gets brought out by the manager. I pick up sandwiche, see it's got raw onions. Drop it on the table. "Um, excuse me. This was supposed to have dehydrated onions." She takes it & tells the man to remake it. He gets upset. He put a handful of pickles on my sandwich out of spite. I didn't complain & ate the sandwich because I was disgusted at that point.

I am upset & walk up to the manager. Me : "I don't appreciate how I am being treated."

Manager : "We've had problems with you before."

I told her how I used to be a shift manager at this very store. I never treated a customer as I was being treated.

She questioned whether I was lying. She wanted to know who the manager was then. I started in 1990 at that store. There were 4 managers over the years. Then I went on to name some long-term employees that worked with me.

She questioned why I even came in. Why does that matter? I am a customer & wanted lunch before an appointment.

I did call the corporate line after I left. I told them of both incidents. I eventually got a voicemail from the owner who said sorry it happened, but they remade...

This is my 1st time writing a review like this. DO NOT GO HERE!!! For the past few months service has been horrible at the drive thru. On Sunday the 22nd of January 2017 at 1057 am I placed an order for Breakfast. The other members in my family wanted lunch. I ask if I could place an order for lunch and she said not until 11. No big deal. I paid for mine and drove around and waited until 1105 am in a parking spot. I pulled up to order lunch and she was a snot. She started to say I could not order lunch and stopped mid sentence and said what do you want....LOL!!! I gave her half my order and she cut me off and gave me a total. It was like a movie LOL!!! I was in mid sentence with no pausing!!! I calmly ask if I could finish my order and I was told to pull around and finish my order at the window. At this time I was ticked!!!!!!! When I was pulling around I watched a girl walk away from the girl at the register very quickly. I asked the girl if I was allowed to finish my order. she said go ahead. I want to point out that I work in retail and that I do not abuse people. I finished our order and got the food after waiting awhile and drove off. I got to the mall just a bit down the road and the order was wrong. I ran into the mall and came out and started to go to Dixon. My daughter and Father were still hungry because they did not get there food. At this point all the other times in the last two months when I got rude laughing kids and just plainly wrong orders came to mind and I had enough. I turned around. I walked in and nicely ask for the manager. It was a manager I did not know. I told her the entire story quietly and slightly off to the side. She smirked lightly and said she would take care of it. She did get me my missing food. However because of all the problems as of late I recommend not going to this place ever again. My family has been going to this particular McDonalds for over 30 years. Its just not worth it and frankly Rock Falls IL McDonalds is worth the trip from all the nasty new employees they have in Sterling IL. Plus the food is better at...

When McDonald’s in Sterling employees likes to be complete assholes about an order they got wrong. When I order 2 kids meals and specifically say with fries and apples on both and a bottle of water for one. They get that wrong so I take the recipe up and say hey I ordered fries and apples in each of these and they are not in there can I get some apples so we can make this right. Mind you that it’s even wrong on the recipe. Then the girl proceeds to ask do u have the fries. Well yah obviously do u want me to go get them. She says yes. So get them come back. Try explaining she takes the fries and says there’s ur apples ur all good. Very rude. And I’m not the one. So go back to my table. Fiancé says wanna go back they also forgot our like 4 things of sauce. I said no. So he went and got it. But said the lady was nice but saw a manager or whatever in a vest getting the sauce and shaking her head. Very rude. Will probably never come here again. Unfortunately my kids love the play place but I guess we will find somewhere else to go...
