Hello all and thank you for taking the time to read my review 😁 This was the first time we have eaten here at Steve's. When I try new places I like to order multiple things to taste! Nothing was greasy ( as some reviews said) and everything tasted extremely fresh. You come here for the fried food 😁 if you are with me still, here was our menu! Fish & Chips dinner, 4 pc tenders, 6 Buffalo wings, 6 garlic parm, lg coleslaw, small hush puppies and a small funnel fries. ⚡️The fish was really good! It's not a crispy beer batter breading but the fish was really good soft not over cooked. Tarter sauce was very lemony (?) to me but my husband loved it. The fries were your basic steak fries. ⚡️the tenders aren't too bad. A good flavor and a softer breading my son loves them! ⚡️the wings are delicious! Only snag would be the garlic parm are WAAY more garlic than parm haha woah haha the Buffalo were nice and hot. Both flavors were served wet and I love it! Let's talk sides!!!!! ⚡️That coleslaw!!! Oh my goodness it was delicious! Very creamy and just refreshing! Definitely worth the large size! Small cut like KFC but Steve's is my new go to for coleslaw. ⚡️ the hush puppies are so good. Nice and they are that authentic southern hush puppy flavor. The small size has quite a bit (8 count I believe) ⚡️⚡️and last but definitely my favorite, the funnel cake fries!!! GET THE LARGE!!!!!!!!! 😉 trust me! Thank you for taking...
Read moreFood is always greasy and cost more money for smaller portions. The cod fillets use to be nice and thick and now they are skinny and flat. The Jackfish used to be cheaper than the cod and giant fillets now they are more expensive than cod and you get two 6 or 7 inch long skinny fillets. The phone rings and goes to voicemail which tells you call back it took over 30 minutes for someone to actually answer the phone The thin dark haired young man working in shorts and flip flops is very cocky and rude and looks totally unprofessional. I think he may be owners grandson or something. This place used to be the place to go for seafood but has not been for many many years.
I went to Steve's the other day and thought ok I will give them another try. Well it was worse than before. I ordered a chunk sandwich and while I was waiting I noticed the prices have gone up again. When I got my sandwich I paid and left. Went to my car to eat it and when I took the top bun off to put ketchup on it I saw 3 little chucks each one the size of a McDonald chicken nugget. WOW. This place is getting worse and worse. Want a real fish sandwich. Take the 25 minute drive to Colemans. 4 bucks or so for a fish sandwich and it makes...
Read moreI moved to the Steubenville area about a year ago with my family. Immediately when we asked where to go for seafood, we were told Steve's was the place to go. So, of course we went. First, the lady behind the counter was nice enough. The kitchen area looked clean. The ordering process was pretty straight forward. Their menu is ok. We ordered a fish dinner and a crab cake dinner. The food was OK. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was passable. The crab cakes were HUGE. They don't skimp on portion size. It came with 2 huge crabcakes, Fries, coleslaw, and a buttered roll. The fries were fresh and crispy but bland. The crabcake had good flavor, but I could taste the imitation crab meat mixed in. The roll was soft. Overall, I'd give the place a 3 out of 5 stars. I've been back a few times and the food has always been consistent, not any worst but not any better either. It's a solid fish place, especially since seafood options in Steubenville are limited. This place is a long time staple in the community. If you're ever in Steubenville,...
